          Great product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is fantastic if you want to check it out and see if you like it because everything is so straightforward, and I enjoyed how it was so easy to use and very understanding of what to do. I absolutely did and would be getting more.

            This stuff works Quick!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product on the roof of my motor home. It had sat under oak trees for over a year and was filthy and moldy. I was surprised that you are only supposed to leave this on for a minute before rinsing. In actuality, I probably left it on for 3 or 4 minutes by the time I could get to the rinsing part. I was impressed how well it worked. I did have to reapply in a few areas, but the roof was super dirty. I will use this again and try to keep up with the cleaning at more regular intervals which I think will only need one application.

              Works and doesn't harm marble!
This caulk remover worked as promised and didn't harm the marble tub surround. We have a built in, bench mounted whirlpool tub in our master bath for which no access door was provided. It was installed in the original construction circa 1989. The caulk is that old and is hardened. The tub has developed a leak in the outside plumbing and the only way to get at it is to lift the tub out of the surround.. To do that, we needed to remove the caulk around the rim first. And, we wanted to be able to do that without damaging the marble tile surround. So, we tested this Klean-Strip Caulk remover on a non-visible corner to see how effective it was and if it would stain or damage the marble tile. Well, it worked flawlessly! I applied it as directed. Spread it out a bit after a minute or two. Waited ten minutes. And was able to scrape away the hardened caulk with a blunt instrument easily. After cleaning it up with water and soap as directed, there is no marking or damage to the marble surround. We're very pleased with this product for this use. Sadly, it turns out that the tub is not set on top of the tile. The marble tile was installed after the tub it seems and cut to fit around it. Which also meant the gap between the tub and tile was filled with grout under the caulk that the Klean-strip removed. This just adds to the challenge of lifting that tub up for repairs without damaging the existing tile surround. We highly recommend that you try this product for old caulk removal in appropriate circumstances, which are listed in the HD website description and the product label.

              didn't know I needed this.
I only recently heard of Klean-Strip caulk remover, I had no idea that this stuff even existed. Scraping out old silicone caulk around the tub and shower has always been a hated tedious job using picks, screwdrivers and fingernail to slowly pick out the old caulk. I tried this stuff, it is thick and clings to wherever you apply it. It is easy to squeeze out through the flip top. Let it sit for a few minutes, 10-20 and then wipe out the old caulk. Sometimes takes a second application, but it is so much easier and faster than I have ever experienced.

                Didn't do much
I've got some caulk that is moldy in my shower. I used this product with the hope that it would make fast work of removing it. Unfortunately it didn't really seem to do much. I was hoping it would turn the caulk to gel and it would just peel right up. But unfortunately it didn't seem to make much difference from the areas that I didn't apply it to. I still had to use a putty knife and a lot of elbow grease.

We are sorry that the Klean Strip Caulk Remover did not meet your expectations and would like to get more information on your project and how the product was used. For best results: apply over existing caulk to soften and dissolve the bond, allow to sit for 5-20 minutes to loosen, scrape, repeat as needed. Some scraping with a caulk removing tool will be needed. Please call our Klean-Strip helpline at 1-800-398-3892 if you would like to discuss in more detail. SprayForget

                Admittedly Pessimistic at First
I was admittedly pessimistic at when I got this product, but I quickly changed my mind quite quickly. This is NOT a magic potion that will make the caulk fall off, but it does certainly soften it for easy removal. I needed to replace the caulk on our shower and thought I would give this a try. It is thick and I was able to put a bead on a vertical caulk line and it mostly stayed in place on the caulk. I should have been more liberal in the amount I used but quickly learned to be more generous. I left one area untreated to compare and there was a definite difference in how much easier the treated caulk came off. I did still use a razor blade scraper and the treated area scraped off much easier than the untreated area. It has a strong acetone smell and I kept the bathroom fan running to help vent the fumes. I also wore rubber gloves to protect my hands.

This Caulk Remover may be the solution or your mileage may vary
One of our bathroom sink counters was installed about 2 years ago but the GE silicone caulk between it and the wall has already cracked and yellowed (see photo). So, time to try a different caulk. But first we had to remove the old. The label on the bottle is a little deceptive – it says “Works in 5 minutes”. But if you read the instructions on the back of the bottle it actually says “Allow to sit for 5-20 minutes to loosen. Some types of caulk may require more time.” In our case after about 20 min the top and roughly 1/4 of the depth of caulk were soft. But waiting longer didn’t get it any deeper than that. So, the solution was to use an angled pick (actually a dental tool) to pry the caulk out, a chunk or strip at a time. The whole process was painstaking and took about an hour. It would have helped somewhat if the bottle came with a longer, narrower nozzle as the old caulk was pretty narrow and applying the remover from the bottle’s tip resulted in it getting on both the wall paint and the sink top. On the positive side, the caulk was somewhat easier to pry out than with no remover, and the remover didn’t damage the semi-gloss wall paint or faux stone of the sink. I suspect that the remover would be more effective when the caulk to be removed is wider, and possibly with caulks other than silicone (it says that it “removes latex caulk” but “loosens silicone caulk”.

                Disappointing
I tried this on a bathtub with elderly caulk along the floor. Not rock hard, still somewhat flexible caulk. I put a generous amount on, left it sit for a timed 20 minutes. Using a plastic scraper, I could not get any of the old caulk removed. I switched to a razor blade and saw the same time. Wiping off the goo, it did make the caulk a bit whiter, but the caulk was not the least bit softened for easy removal. This is also rated to remove spray foam residue. I coated a blob of foam sticking out from a door I installed (none too elegantly) and let the Kleen-Strip sit for 20 minutes. Almost zero effect.

                Good product
This is a mixed review. Most of the acrylic latex on the floor came up using a putty knife. But some was so stuck down that it started to peel the vinyl. A treatment with Klean-strip and allowed to sit for 30 min had no effect. Same for 2 hrs but overnight it came off like butter. Moral, allow it time to work. Silicone around the perimeter of the tub was a whole different matter. Allowing it to sit overnight had no effect. I had to scrape every inch with knife and razor blades. I guess it was no surprise that the silicone was tough but I had high hopes. Unrealistic perhaps.
