Using Klean Heat in my oil lamps. Burns brighter than paraffin lamp oil. And won't "clog" large size wicks the way paraffin does. No odor and burns clean with no smoke. Highly recommend this product for your oil lamps.

I highly Recommend this for Oil lamp Fuel
I am a brand new oil lamp user. I picked up two beautiful vintage oil lamps when we lost power for 7 days. The lamps I purchased came fully loaded with this magical clear odorless fuel. I started searching high and low and deep diving into researching Safety Data Sheets of similar products from paraffin to Aladdin lamp oil. I concluded that this product shared similar if not exact chemical structuring as similar and more expensive brands that are strictly sold as “lamp fuel”. All of these people giving negative reviews saying that there is an odor to this fuel.... are most likely 98% wrong, unless they have some highly sensitive olfactory nerves. My best guess is that they don’t know how to properly care for and use an oil lamp. #1. The people complaining of smell probably didn’t properly clean their oil lamp and install a BRAND NEW UNUSED wick before changing fuel types. What is most likely happening is that they just poured Klean Heat straight into a dirty lamp with an old used wick and when they lite the wick it creates a bad odor from either a) the old kerosene Or b) a chemical reaction occurring between the new and old fuel types. I bought a third oil lamp that had old kerosene Still sitting in it and stinking things up. It also looked to have a layer of paraffin oil caked onto the bottom. After deep cleaning the lamp and installing a new wick I then filled the lamp with the Klean Heat and lit it without any issues or odor. #2. Smell or door is subjective. I was very worried after reading a few Negative reviews concerning odor. As soon as I got to my car I opened the jug to see if there was an odor, there was not. I would compare this product to feeling and smelling like olive oil. I accidentally got some on my hands and it wasn’t as terrible as I would have expected.

Bought this to use in a flat wick kerosene type hurricane lantern. I want something that's as odorless as possible while sticking to a kerosene based fuel (the use of liquid paraffin oil is advised against for large wick lanterns). After trying a few different lamp oils, I gave this a shot. In this application, in a properly adjusted (not smoking) hot blast lamp, the fuel still has a bit of an odor when burned, but it is nowhere near as pungent as any of the lamp oils I've used. The smell also dissipates quicker than a lamp oil once the lantern is put out. Price compared to lamp oils is very reasonable too. Cheapest lamp oil that's easy to obtain at another well known big box retailer is around $8 for a 1/2 gallon (64oz) bottle. For only a few dollars more, purchased this full gallon of fuel at Home Depot.

burns just like the regular kerosene...only no smell. just wished my local store would stock it regularly, they tell me they only get it once a year...its a seasonal item. I've driven to some of the other Home Depots to buy it as well after I bought out my local one.

I collect antique oil lamps and like to keep them in working condition. Several of them I use on a regular basis. Clean-Heat is about the most "odorless" fuel I've found. I also drop some eucalyptus essential oil in the fuel to help mask any remaining fumes. Something to remember: If you've previously used Kerosene, even K1, you need to replace any wicks or you'll continue to get the kerosene smell. Lamp wicks can last forever, so you just need to throw them out and start with a fresh one. I would highly recommend this for the price. K1 runs around $5.99 a gallon, and for a couple of bucks more for Klean-Heat, you will appreciate the difference.

Excellent kerosene heater and lamp fuel substitute!
This product is excellent for kerosene heaters or lamps. It gives off virtually no odor when burning. It is better than the 1-K kerosene which up till now was the best you could buy for your lamps or heaters.. Klean Heat burns clean, makes your wicks last longer and has less odor than the 1-K kerosene. The price of the Klean Heat is very competitive with the 1-k kerosene. I have read reviews where some say that Klean Heat has an odor, I don’t believe this to be the fault of the product, but a problem with a to rich or to lean adjustment on the burning wick or a wick that needs trimming or some other operational problem. I have used Klean Heat in my Aladdin Lamps and my Aladdin Blue Flame heaters without a noticeable odor. It is just a great product.

        Its above average.
I used it to clean my hedge trimmer blades. It was better than some but not as good as other ones.
