Answer This Question

A:  No. The tip is hardened and can not be magnetized.

by|Nov 5, 2018

A:  The tip is not magnetic. I'm unsure about this but you might be able to magnetize the tip with a strong magnet. There are youtube videos that show how this can be done.

A:  No, it does not come already magnetized. I use the Klein MAG2 magnetizer/demagnetizer to magnetize all of my screwdrivers which is a very helpful feature on many job projects.

    by|Nov 6, 2018

A:  The Klein Tools model # 6034DD Demolition Driver does not have a magnetic tip.

The Klein Tools Brand, #2 Phillips Head Demolition Driver with 4 in. Round Shank screwdriver is a premium screwdriver for homeowners and professionals alike. Klein has built a lot of quality into this screwdriver with every part of it serving a specific purpose. The precision ground tip is hardened and inserted into the tough tool steel shank to provide a positive non-slip bite into Phillip’s head fasteners while the shank can withstand twisting, bending, and sheer forces for driving screws, or aligning parts. A striking cap on the handle that includes a rubber crushed grip protects it from damaged when struck with a hammer. While Klein has designed this screwdriver for demolition uses and abuse, it is of such good quality, I will use it with the same care any quality tool deserves for safety on the job and long tool life.

The first thing you become aware of when placing this Klein's Demolition Screwdriver in your hand is the comfort of the tool. It feels balanced with a weighted handle. The weight comes from the way the screwdriver is made. The shaft is an integral of the handle as it passes through the handle and ends at the striker plate. The comfortable cushioned grip gives you the control and power you need. The tip of the screwdriver is precision machined and hardened.

The # 2 Phillips head screwdriver is the most common size. The demolition variation has a steel cap at the back of the handle to protect it from hammer blows. The 6” model is a nice size for everyday projects. The screwdriver does have a heavier feel to it with the reinforcement of the handle that is built in. The treated tip will make it last longer than an untreated tip. If you are going to chop things, I suggest a chisel. There is no need to spend the extra money on this version, if you use the right tool for the right job. The Klein product is a high quality product. You will get many more years of life out of a quality product like this, than the cheap knock off versions. If you must do some miscellaneous chopping while using the screwdriver, than this is the one for you. Made in the USA.

        Klein makes the best tools!
I own a lot of Klein hand tools. An electrician friend of mine turned me on to them probably 30- 35 ago. It was what he carried in his leather electricians bag. I had a lot of respect for him so I started using the same kind of tools. I found that they were a great tool and long-lasting. This particular Phillips screwdriver is no different. Great tool I have used it hundreds of times.
