Nice little pocketable knife sharpener. Works well to sharpen knives and hand tools like grarden pruners. About the size of a pen. Comes in an Orange color with a brass bottom which can be unscrewed to remove the sharpener. It can then be reverse mounted on to the body so you have something to hold while sharpening your cutting tool.
Not sure what material the actual sharpener is made off and how long it will work to sharpen the tools. Overall it seems to be okay for light usage and to keep in the toolbox.

The description says it's a sharpener but really this is a honing steel and as such, doesn’t actually sharpen your knife but realigns the edge on your knife. If your knife is really dull, you should sharpen it on a whetstone after which you can hone the knife with this. If you use a short bladed knife frequently, this would be a really handy item as after each use, you could quickly and easily hone your knife and not have to use a whetstone very often. It'd be a good idea to keep one in your glove compartment (if you keep a pocket knife on hand) and another one in the kitchen for those paring knives.
The steel resides inside the orange tube until you want to use it then you unscrew it, pull the steel out, turn it around and screw it back in and you're ready to go.
Fully assembled it is 9.5” long
The orange “handle” is 5.25” long
The entire steel portion (steel + the part that screws into the handle) is 5” long
It comes with a metal clip if you want to clip it onto a pocket.

Klein Tool Pocket Knife Sharpener. Nice convenient size to fit into shirt pen pocket or tool kit, and it put nice edge on smaller blades, as it is designed for. I'm ol school and have always sharpened blades with the stone or in this case the pocket sharpener in the left hand (I'm right handed) and the blade to be sharpened in the right hand and moving the blade toward the body. I put good edge on a pocket knife this way. When I followed the instructions and held the knife in left hand and sharpener in right drawing it away from the body, I found that the tool had more flex and therefore inconsistent blade angle and did not get as good of edge on the knife. I would give it higher score if it was more rigid in application when I was following the instructions. Overall I found it very handy and convenient in size so that it would always be with you when needed. In the picture, you can see it compared in size to regular ball point pen.

I got this pocket-sized sharpener to hone the blades on my pocket knives. Second to my love of pocket knives is my obsession with keeping them sharp. That said, I think hard-chromed steel sharpeners, like this one by Klein Tools, are adequate for honing, but not quite as good as a quality ceramic steel sharpener.
What I like best about this sharpener is its compactness. It's the same size as a fine-point Sharpie marker, and thus it is truly shirt-pocket compatible.
A blade that I have considerable difficulty getting and keeping sharp is the one on my Victorinox "Tinker" Swiss Army knife. Following the "How to Use" instructions on the card that came with the sharpener, I drew the blade across the sharpener 4 times on each edge. The result was a noticeable improvement in sharpness. I repeated the procedure twice more and ended up with a completely satisfactory honed blade.

This review is for the Klein Tools Pocket-Sized Knife Sharpener, Model #44151.
I've used these draw type sharpeners for years. I love the size and portability
of this small model, it fits perfectly in a shirt pocket and comes with a pocket
clip. The handle is just over 5 inches long and the sharpener itself measures
3 3/4 inches. The orange handle is made with a non-slip material and fits the
hand.
I daily carry a Klein knife with the serrated edge and am always using it for some
thing. With that use, I had knocked the edge off it, but in about 3 minutes of
careful sharpening, you could shave with it.
It's a nice tool that is going in my took box. This is another Klein tool to write
your name on. Good Job ! I highly recommend this product.

New shape not as good as former tapered shape
I have two of the earlier tapered version of this pocket knife sharpener and really love them. I recently bought another to put with other knives. When I used it to sharpen a blade, I was immediately disappointed. The non-tapered shaft is not as fast to use and not as natural for sharpening blades. I have used it multiple times, sharpening various blade types and I am still disappointed. Klein, you made a mistake changing this tool. It does not work like a knife steel; it is not as good as the earlier version that I love.

The 3-3/4 in. Pocket-Sized Knife Sharpener quickly provides a razor-sharp edge and the blade stores in the handle for easy carrying. The sharpener is supplied in the closed position. To use, unscrew the blade, reverse it and screw it into the handle. To sharpen a knife. rest the sharpener on the knife blade at a 25-30 degree angle. Gently draw the sharpener across the edge of the knife blade 3 or 4 times. Turn the knife over and repeat .After each use wipe the sharpener with a cloth to remove any steel particles.
