Very nice feature of releasing the "close lock" feature. Just pick up the tongs and slightly squeeze the handles. No fumbling for the lock lever. Jaw will grip and hold sheet metal at the end on the end up to 16ga. Actually will grip metal up to 0.067", which will work perfect on 16ga. galvanized. I was using it on 24ga. duct work. Works well. Minimal squeeze keeps tongs form slipping or spinning. See High-grip jaws in attached picture.

This is a serious tool.
This is my first Klein tool, and it is a beauty. Incredibly designed. Very specific to bending sheet metal. The inside of the bending surfaces are textured so that the two metal surfaces being crimped or bent sort of fuse together.
This tool is built right. Nice heavy plastic grips. This has weight to it too. There is a toggle-like switch under the clamps that cause it to automatically open when releasing pressure.
Very specific, very well built, great tool.

For anyone who needs to effortlessly make tight, accurate, and clean bends in light weight sheet metal, this Klein hand seamer is the tool you need. The jaws open and close with a compound leverage mechanism which increases the holding grip of the jaws. Furthermore, the jaw surfaces are textured to provide additional grip on the sheet metal to prevent slipping of the material while bending. The overall design and construction is well engineered with several important features: all pivot points are machine bolts with locking nuts - no rivets here!;. a self-opening latch allows one hand operation; the 1" x 3" jaws has notches on the 1" edge in 1/4" increments to help make accurate bends; the handles are covered with comfortable cushion grips keeping your hands comfortable through multiple bends; it is manufactured in nickel plated steel for exceptional strength and rust resistance. Klein says the tool can be used on stainless steel up to 24 gauge and up to 22 gauge steel. Lastly, the head is off-set to allow greater access in tight locations. Overall, I found the tool to be exceptionally easy and comfortable to use, it made very accurate bends, and by the quality of construction will certainly last through hundreds of not thousands of bends. Additionally, Klein includes a warrany against defects in materials and workmanship for the LIFE OF THE TOOL - which in this case, Klein defines as 2 years from the date of purchase. It is made in USA.

Yet another top quality tool from Klein! The first thing I noticed about this seamer is the feel of solid, smooth working components. Designed to give you years of use. The offset bend and solid build of the tool allows you to have leverage for bending steel, without having to get your hands near the sharp edges of the cut. A must have for anyone doing a good about of duct work. I have no negative comments for the tool, but it would be nice if they eliminated the plastic packaging it comes in.

The Klein Tools 3 in. Offset Hand Seamer is a notch above the competition. The reason is because this model has a lightly textured finish on the surface of the lips. My other seamer has a smooth surface and sometimes slips when we are working in the field especially if we get caught in a rain storm. I like the feel of the hand grips in my hands, very comfortable grips to work with, without making my hands cramp up.
