Just another quality product from Klein Tools which should easily outlast me. I’ve had an old block & tackle which was my grandfathers and time came for an upgrade. I liked that it had a nice big, light weight, yet sturdy swivel hook (my old one didn’t have that). It should be noted the hook gates are heavily spring loaded, and very strong. The safe working load 750lb maximum is overkill based on my past applications, but nice to know the maximum. We generally use in vertical applications to hang wild game for weighing, gutting, skinning, and processing the meat which is generally around the 200lb weight range. Since the snubbing hook is meant to hold a horizontal pull/load it doesn’t work to secure the line for my application, but then I’m using for a less than intended purpose; so no way reflected as a negative in my review. I have an old boat cleat secured to my garage wall and just wrap the line around that for safe holding. A nice durable yet lightweight, quick option for many other tasks as well vs. dragging out a come along.

Lifting heavy items just got a lot easier with this block and tackle. I needed a way to lift a 200 lbs Pinewood Derby track into my garage rafters. Be very careful with heavy items.
The hooks come in two styles. One with swivel and one without swivel. See photo. I have a slight preference for the one without swivel.
The pulleys come in two different hook styles. Standard and gaurded. The website description is not useful. You need to look at the pictures to see the difference.
The rope it comes with is a little short. I will be buying new rope soon. It was not spliced as shown in the product photos.. Hopefully my knot holds.
I received this KLEIN TOOLS BLOCK AND TACKLE for free to write this review.

I own a barn with a hay loft. I got this for lifting heavy loads. It works great. Pulleys run smoothly and rope stays in track. I wish it could handle more than 750 pounds, but not sure how often I would need that, or how easy it would be to hoist something heavier than that by myself. 25 feet of rope is adequate, but would have preferred something longer. The Snubbing Hook works great for 'tying' the rope off. It is rather expensive, but knowing it is Klein quality, gives me peace of mind when lifting something, that if dropped, the damage would far out weigh the price differential.

The Klein Tools 259 block and tackle is lightweight and made of galvanized steel. The sleeves are strong yet lightweight and are made of aluminum alloy with all bronze bushings. The block has a snubbing hook to hold the load once at the desired position making it easy for one person to operate. The hooks fit under the insulator and engage a pin on the cross arm. The advantage of a block and tackle is it makes it easier to lift an object and this one can lift up to 750 pounds. The rope is 3/8" diameter and 25 feet long and is nylon making for a better grip and easier to snub. I attached the large hook to an overhanging bar in my garage and then could use the bottom clip to attach what I wanted to lift. You could attach straps around a kayak to store it and then attach it to the clip. This is a premium quality block and tackle that gives you extra lifting leverage and is easy to control.

PROS
The block and tackle helps lifting or pulling items together by reducing the force required by the user. The hooks at the ends are sturdy and have clips to ensure that they do not come loose from the items. The additional anchor hook allows for connection to larger items in a vertical lift, although it does not have a securing clip. One block has a slot to secure the rope to prevent release.

This Klein Tools Block and Tackle 259, Anchor Hook and Spliced line is another quality product from a brand I know well to market quality tools. The blocks are smooth running and the “preventers” are strong enough that they won’t become ineffective for a long time. The swivel hook is big enough to catch up on conduit or cable trays. The safe working load is stated as 750 pounds. With a four-part line that would require a 187-pound tug on the loose end so I won’t worry about exceeding that without thinking. I have several 2-ton come-alongs but they are overkill for many jobs and the ratcheting takes a lot of time regardless of the load. This block and tackle is lightweight and quick.
