It says that it will detect miswiring and has indicators for improper grounding. I didn't have this situation so could not verify it.

Great product. I use this everyday as a home inspector. Besides the standard light indicator and GFCI tester, it also shows what the defect is (open ground/reversed wires), and the voltage. Very handy for report writing, as the client can see the read out on the screen. The voltage indicator shows voltage drop across the home. Fits in your palm. Highly recommended!

I replaced a standard breaker with a GFCI breaker and I needed to test the receptacles. It also showed that the wiring was correct. This worked perfectly and it was at a good price too.

Stick to hand tools Klein
This tester has a few nice features, but uses the same unintelligent style circuit as the old neon/resistor type testers. Just as in those, the tester displays HOT/GND REV when in reality it's an open, loaded neutral. Having a hot and ground reversed would be really rare in most instances, but an open neutral with something plugged in downstream is much more likely.

Great little tool. Fast go/no go and voltage readout performs two functions at once. GFCI tester allows safety check on kitchen/bath/garage/outdoor circuits. Pocket size makes a nice addition to my electrics kit.

Good way to evaluate outlets in residential/light commercial applications quickly. Always good to check the circuit and voltage to ensure all is up to par. This does just that all in one unit. Nice touch from Klein designing battery cover screw so it can't fall out. Suggestion, buy some clear car paint self adhesive protection film and cover LCD readout .. if you don't, eventually it will get scuffed and hard to read. Made in China.
