A solid quality tool. I have used this item for building a solar power system on our 5th wheel. The cutters work well in the ranges advertised with increasing difficulty as the wire thickens. I have used these cutters many times since and would not hesitate to purchase again if needed, but I should not ever have to unless these go missing. I expect these to last longer then me.

Klein cable cutters are standard well-made Klein tool. The metal is nicely finished and the handles have thick slip-on red non-slip rubber grips. The tool works smoothly, and the cutting edges are sharp to the touch. Its size at about ten inches allow it to be easily fit in a hip belt. Imprinted on the tool is "Not For Steel or ACSR" so if you forget its easy to check. The package says 30 percent less effort than their 63050 model. While I don't own that particular cutter, I found the effort to cut 6 gauge copper near effortless with one hand. The cut was clean and smooth. A 4-wire 12 gauge sleeved line also was effortless to cut, and the tool easily opened for it.. the tool has a wider circular opening at the base where larger diameter wire will reside rather than sliding up the cutting blades as the cutting progresses. Larger diameter wire will require a wider opening of the cutter and as a result two hands to complete the cut. The tool opens fully, with the ends of the handles measuring one foot in separation. Understandably a single hand couldn't operate the cutter fully open, but soft large diameter items can be cut.

Great tool from a great brand. These cable cutters work great for cutting round material. They deform the shape way less than straight jawed cutters that tend to mash the material into an oval shape. These cut really well and are made in America. They are designed to cut copper and aluminum cable, but i like to use them for plastic tubing as well. Recommend to anyone.

These cable cutters are not for cutting steel. Copper and aluminum only! I end up cutting more steel cables than copper. For copper these are great. They slice right through thick copper wires. Very sharp. Stick with Klein, they build great, quality tools. The grip is perfect. This KLEIN TOOLS HIGH-LEVERAGE CABLE CUTTER is a a high quality product that is easy to use and has a comfortable grip. It makes the job go faster with much less hand fatigue, especially when doing large jobs that require a lot of cutting and stripping. This cable cutter has a good size and weight to it and the no slip handles are a plus. Klein tools never disappoint.

Love this cable cutter by Klein tools! Sidecut pliers and even wire strippers work great for 12 or 14 gauge wire but for much heavier cables you need something more and that is where these Klein high leverage cable cutters show their strength - literally. Now I know that using the right tool for the job saves both time and money, I have to admit when it comes to cutting 1/0 cables for sub-panels, I have struggled. Yea you get get through it with side cutters or even bolt cutters - but that just leaves you with a spayed mess that you have to work back in shape to get the wires into the lugs. Not with these Klein cable cutters - nice precise, clean cuts every time - and the wire is still round. The curved shape of the blades keeps the cable in place under the cutting edge - whereas with the straight edges on side cut pliers the cable tries to escape the more pressure you put on it. Even with 10-3 copper these are so much easier to use than side cut pliers. Very comfortable to hold and with no play between the cutting surfaces you have no binding and cable cutting is a breeze. Another excellent Klein tool!

A friend of mine who helps me out with so of my home remodeling projects had a pair of these cable cutting pliers and after seeing him use them for cutting the electrical wall cables and also some T V cables I asked him to try them out and I was amazed as to how easily and straight they cur through the several types of cable we were adding or removing, so the next trip to my favorite store HOME DEPOT I made sure that I now owned a pair..

If you work with larger gauge wire or cable this is the perfect high-leverage cable cutter. It can handle up to 4/0 aluminum or 2/0 soft copper with ease. The cable cutters feature the cable gripping shear-type jaws that center the cable or wire in the cutting area so there is no wandering, and supposedly provide up to 30% less force necessary compared to the Klein Tools model 63050 cutter. The cutting area is through hardened for added strength and the milling work looks first rate. The handles are plastic dipped for comfort and grip and allow for single-handed shearing. These are a great addition to my electrical tools that should provide years of quality service.

These will come in pretty handy for average projects that I'll be doing that have larger wires than the average #10/#12. The product description says it will cut 4/0 aluminum and 2/0 copper wire. It is a stretch to get the jaws open for anything 4/0. I tried cutting a bundle that had 3-#6 with a #8 ground wire and there was no way I could get enough leverage to cut them. The handles are not overly long, so it limits your ability to cut the longer wires, but does help if you have limited room to work with. Overall a good product. I would have given 5 stars, but for me, they fall a little short from the description of it's abilities.
