Will this work for cutting and crimping hobby wire
The Klein Tools model # 1019SEN Wire Stripper/Crimper is designed to cut and strip 10-26 AWG solid and 12-28 AWG stranded wire.
Cutting but not crimping. Unless it's very small wire and connectors.
Hi Tee - I don't see any reason why it wouldn't but it would depend on the gauge and type of wire. This tool is primarily made for cutting electrical copper wire up to 12 gauge stranded or 10 gauge solid. Perhaps in your application of cutting hobby wire a diagonal cutter or even snips may be more beneficial.

I have a pair of strippers but when I put them in my bag they’re always open so they get stuck. Does this one have a mechanism that makes it stay closed?
No. Mine are always in a pocket of my pouch that keeps them closed.
Hi Joel - they do not have a locking mechanism although that would be a nice feature.
The Klein Tool model # 1019SEN Wire Stripper does not feature a locking mechanism.
This pair does not but they do have one for about the same price that does lock in place made by Klein tools.
