          Answer This Question

A:  Klein Tools does not recommend using liquid rubber to repair the insulation on these tools. The insulation on these tools is designed to reduce risk of injury if the tools make contact with an energized source with voltage up to 1000 volts. All Klein insulated tools are clearly marked with the official 1000-volt rating symbol. Where marked, they meet or exceed the referenced ASTM F1505 and/or IEC 60900 standards for insulated/insulating tools, and comply with NFPA-70E and CSA Z462 standards for workplace electrical safety. The insulation on each tool consists of two layers. The high-dielectric white inner layer is thick, exceptionally tough, and bonded to the tool. The bright orange outer layer is flame-retardant and impact-resistant. Always inspect your tools before use. In addition to inspecting the tools before each use, ASTM F1505 recommends an annual visual examination by a suitably trained person to determine if the tools are suitable for continued service.

Klein Tools #1 insulated Phillips Head Screwdriver with a 4 in. Round Shank-Cushion Grip, perfect tool for those jobs where you need a good phillips head screwdriver, this tool has one of the most comfortable grips I have ever used, and the cushion grip also provides more gripping power for you. I personally really like the orange shank that makes it easier to find in your toolbox.

These Heavy Duty Insulated Long Nose Pliers from Klein tools are just the thing for getting into tight spaces that are electrified. Rated for 1000 watts, you can be confident in knowing if you happen to touch a live circuit, you will be protected by the two layers of heavy insulation molded onto the handles of these pliers. Made in the USA from the highest quality materials, I consider them an investment in my toolbox that will get the job done and be safe doing it.

The insulated screw driver seems to do the trick. I have not been shocked yet! I love that they put the tip symbol on the end so you can grab it from your tool belt or chest without trying to figure out if it's the right size or type. I have a few Klein electrical tools and they all seem to be decent tools for the price. Will probably get a whole set of screw drivers.

Klein makes great tools and these insulated 10in pump pliers are no exception. Insulated against electric shock rated to 1000V with comfy handles, guards to prevent contact with the head, made of forged steel and the jaws open wide with sharp teeth for a variety of general uses. This is geared toward electricians but obviously many other trades can use it with effectiveness. Made in the USA, five stars!

This is a very sturdy and useful tool. It is a heavy-duty long nose plier. It is not spring-loaded, which is handy for something this durable as it would difficult to close otherwise. As it is, it makes it easy to reach in and grab, close and/or open, depending on your needs. I have a number of lamps which have faulty plugs which need to be changed. The side-cutting edge on the pliers make short work of cutting the cord, so I can start with fresh lengths of wire in the new plug. The pliers are insulted for safety, if you are using them for re-wiring parts of a building. They are made of forged steel for durability and the joint is hot-riveted to keep the pliers from loosening.

These are the first needle-nose pliers I've ever had that cut with very little pressure. The heavy duty insulated handles these easy to grip. I could work in tight spaces and still be able to control the grip. I do a lot of wire cutting on our ranch, and these work better for that than my wire cutters. It took me half the time of what it usually takes to repair a fence yesterday with these.

These electrically insulated 10 inch pump pliers are equally ideal for home DYI or an electrical lineman. The comfortable dual layer orange-over-white insulation is rated at 1000 volts, is flame retardant and have integral guards that help prevent hand contact with conductive parts. It’s made of forged steel and has a maximum jaw capacity of 1-3/4 inches. They are individually tested to exceed insulation ratings. These pliers are not cheap, but I like these pliers because they’re a good choice if you’re looking for a quality tool that may save your life and could last for generations. It has lifetime warranty on material defects and workmanship for the normal life of the product.

This is a nice pair of pliers to use when insulation of tools is required. What I like about this pair us the double layer insulation. It's not a cheap dipped kind. If the outer layer is compromised you will see an inner white layer. My Nephew, an Electrician's Apprentice, gave me a list of tools and I chose these because of insulation and 1000v rating. Thinking he will be very happy with this tool. Plus it's made in the U.S.A.

Klein Tools is still in the business of making excellent tools for people who use them to make a living and want good solid made in America tools. These insulated pump pliers are perhaps the best examples of this rugged tool construction I have seen for a good long while. Max opening is 1 3/4" and the insulation on the handles is rated for 1000 volts. I do not think very many of these will be subjected to high voltage but the grip is very comfortable to hold on to. It's a good tool.

Klein tools have been made in the USA since 1857 and are well known for their electrical tools, so it should be no surprise they make a quality electrically insulated 10 inch pump pliers that are equally ideal for home DYI or an electrical lineman. The dual layer orange-over-white insulation is rated at 1000 volts, is flame retardant and feature integral guards that help prevent hand contact with conductive parts. It has a maximum jaw capacity of 1-3/4 inches. It’s forged steel and has a tension-loaded joint that reduces handle wobble. They are individually tested to exceed insulation ratings. These pliers are not cheap but are a good choice if you’re looking for a quality tool that may save your life, could last for generations, and have lifetime warranty on material defects and workmanship for the normal life of the product.
