They are described as "Crimper Die, Non-Ins, Open Barrel, AWG 10-20". Beyond that, they have no documentation, and apparently are intended for use with the type of crimp lugs that have a set of "fingers" that fold over both wire and insulation. Almost any Molex pin would be a good example. Unfortunately, most of what I have on hand for lugs are the type that wraps all the way around the stripped wire, and can be attached with ordinary Stake-On pliers. I can say that open-barrel pins will crimp well enough as long as they are copper or copper alloy. But the crimp pins I have are limited to a max wire size of 16-18 AWG, and they are not power or ground lugs. I have some larger ground rings that turned out to be tin-plated STEEL. Oopsie. With enough force, they did crimp with the short handled tool, but the results are nothing I would want to use or sell. See the picture. Again, most non-insulated crimp lugs I use are not open barrel, so I can use my Stake-Ons (Klein 1005s). And for small signal and power pins, at my work, we actually buy the appropriate Molex or Amp crimp tool, so I don't need a generic crimp tool. There are other die sets (for the insulated Yellow, Blue and Red crimp lugs, and the Pin Terminals) available for the tool that would make it worthwhile to have, but this particular set of dies would not be of much use to me. If I were doing distribution panels, or similar work using 10 and 12 Gauge wire, maybe.
