I use this safety helmet for DIY home-improvement projects and small repair jobs that might pose risks for head injuries. It is a must have for any light to medium construction and home improvement work for further safety in addition to your safety glasses and mask. You may not need it often, but having it available in one odd job and bringing it with you would give you so much peace of mind and might even save your life. It is important to remember that these helmets protect from top impact such as falling objects, but not so much side impact. For example, I use a bike helmet to climb the roof to hang Christmas lights (once a year), for protection in case I fall. When you climb a high place, if you fall and break a limb, it can be casted and would heal, but not with a head injury. You need to protect it well. It is also a good idea to wear this helmet in spaces where things might fall on your head. I recently used it to get into the crawling space in the attic and it saved me from a nail above me when I stood up too fast. The nail made some impact and scratched the helmet, but didn't pierce through. Any job in which you climb a high place such as a ladder, or roof, and being on the floor, a bike helmet is a good idea. For other jobs in which pieces might fall from top, this helmet will come handy. Some may think it may be overkill for these tasks, but it may give you great peace of mind and better protection. In terms of adjustments, there are many options to adjust the fit and tightness. The knob and the inside settings are very effective to personalize it to accomplish a comfortable fit, so that you can wear it for extended times. I spent about 10 minutes or so to adjust and personalize the settings, and after doing that once, only one click and it is on and comfortable. There are also holes in the helmet for better air circulation and it doesn't cause any sweat even after wearing it for a long time. The headlamp is very bright with three brightness settings. The light can be adjusted to angle down. The charge goes a long time while in use, and also keeps charge for weeks while not in use, so it doesn't drain fast when you toss it aside. You can pick it up after months, and it would be ready to go. I used it in the crawlspace in the attic to go to the corners and it illuminated the dark corners very well. It uses an internal battery and is charged using a USB-C cable. The cable comes with it. Overall, this is a great addition to your tool set to keep with your safety tools like your glasses and masks. You may only need it once and it may make all the difference.

I really like the Klein Tools Safety Helmet. It has a lot going for it that I can appreciate such as the adjustment knob on the inside "webbing" that allows me to easily fit my bald head or with a sweat band. I have other helmets but the simple adjustment for venting is a plus. The headlamp has three settings and recharges using the equipped cable. The chin strap fits around my ears and does not interfere with my safety glasses. I highly recommend this helmet.

Very comfortable, tough, Class C (electrically conductive - not electrically insulated) helmet. The straps and suspension are comfortable. The vents on the sides easily open and close depending on whether you want cooling or not. You can adjust the vents from the outside without taking the helmet off. The light is very bright - it tilts down for close up work or points straight ahead for distance. The light has three brightness settings. The size is easily adjustable with a big knob you turn to change size - very fast and easy. The label on the inside says it is Model 60150 and that it fits head size 6-1/2 to 8 (52 cm to 64 cm). It also says it is ANSI / ISEA Z89.1 -2014, Type 1, Class C and CSA Z94.1-2015, Type 1, Class C I am usually very impressed with Klein tools and this helmet has been no exception. Solid piece of gear.

I own a couple Klein helmets. I got this one, because it has the ability to attach an optional visor. I had ordered the visor, before realizing it did not work with my models. I already own a Klein helmet that is vented. So, I knew on a hot sunny day, being white with venting, makes it much cooler. This is my first with a chin strap. It adjusts easily, and after on a while, I forget it is there. I had already bought a Klein Rechargeable Headlamp (313136261 [see my review]), which I love, and came with an elastic head strap This one comes with 313993090, which has the benefit of a brighter mode (300 Lumens for 4 Hours), and a center light (that focuses on what you are looking at). The lamps are interchangeable. So, I can use them on either helmet or the head strap, and having two, one can be charging while I use the other. The lamp can be attached to the front or back. I assume the back is for safety, and if so, would be nice if the lamp had a flashing setting. FYI, I prefer the lamp that comes with this helmet.

Superb fitting, highly adjustable, light weight helmet that is very comfortable to wear. As an owner of a pre-1900’s home I’m always doing repairs in dark, cramped awkward places. Awhile back took a roofing nail hit to the top of the head in the attic, it really hurt. Since I’ve been using the Klein helmet, I’ve taken more hits from nails, beams and sharp corners as evidence by the gouges on the helmet, but I’m here to say I did not feel a thing. The Klein Safety helmet (model #60150) is a class C, type 1 “bump” helmet that has adjustable venting, rechargeable headlamp and a six-point suspension system and chin strap. Class C helmets provide no protection from electrical hazards and the vents would allow for a clear path for electrical arcing, so this is an impact helmet only. Type 1 is for protection from vertical impacts not so much from lateral or side impacts. The six-point head suspension system is a dream, so adjustable and comes with multiple sweat bands that are washable and replaceable as they wear. There is one large adjustment knob in the back that quickly tightens or loosen the main head band and is easily worked with gloves on. The rechargeable headlamp has three LED’s and three different modes. Flood has 100 lumens, spot has 215 lumens and all on has 300 lumens can be toggled through by using a large easily reached and operated top switch so you can do it with gloves on. Charging is through a USB type “C” charging cable (provided) and there is a power level indicator on the left side of the lamp that lights up with every toggle of the power button. The headlamp can be mounted on the front or the back of the helmet and has four downward positions that it can be placed in. The hinge mechanism does not feel overly sturdy but seems to work with no issues. There are additional safety visors that can be attached to the helmet, clear and grey tinted and they meet ANSI Z87.1 std. so they could be used in place of safety glasses. The visors are easily attached and can be raised up out of the line of sight when not in use. It’s unfortunate that the headlamp must be removed to raise the visor up as I had intended to use the visor when snow blowing at night. I found this safety (bump) helmet to be well made, comfortable, highly adjustable and an all-around good quality product. It only takes one accident and a trip to the ER to realize that this helmet is way more cost effective. Recommended.

A very comfortable, well designed safety helmet that is perfect for day and night CERT activities. In order of priority, here are the features that attracted me to this safety helmet: (1) chin strap to keep the helmet firmly in place; (2) LED light for working in dark locations; and (3) the vents to keep my head cooler when working in hot temperatures. After graduating from Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) here in California, I have a ‘grab bag’ with various emergency response essentials in it. On activations like brush fire salvage, we are required to wear our safety helmets and the standard issue green plastic safety helmet gets pretty hot and uncomfortable when we are working in the Southern California summer heat. I really like this vented Klein helmet as it allows the warm air to escape from the inside of the helmet and for air to circulate around your head. The vents are adjustable so you can control the airflow and close it off altogether if preferred. The other aspect I like is the chin strap since it makes sure that the helmet won’t fall off if you happen to have to tilt your head or work at strange angles. On my last assignment after a brush fire, my safety helmet kept falling off while I was trying to re-wire a well water pump so we could restore running water at the incident command post which was pretty annoying. The third feature I like is the LED headlamp. It clips onto the front or the back of the helmet and can be angled all the way to about 65 degrees with three positive stop angles. The headlamp actually has three individual LED bulbs which can be switched between three lighting modes; all-on, spotlight (middle lamp) or floodlight (outer lamps). On a fully charged battery, the lamps will run for 14 hours in 100 Lumen floodlight mode, 9 hours in 215 lumens spotlight mode and 4 hours in 300 lumens all-on mode. The lamp comes with a USB-C type charger cable which means you can charge it from a USB port or from a solar USB charger if you are out in the field. When the lamp is charging there are four colored lights on the side that show the level of charge from red (low) to green (fully charged). I was pretty impressed with the design of the interior frame which is easy to adjust and accommodates head sizes between 6 1/2 and 8. The rear cradle angle can be changed so you can wear a bandana beneath this hat and you simply twist the size adjuster knob with one hand to adjust the fit. The head band and top pad are made of padded, breathable, sweat-wicking materials and are held on by Velcro which makes them easy to remove for machine washing. The height of the frame inside the helmet is also adjustable, so if you prefer a lower fitting helmet, you can quickly adjust the position so the helmet doesn’t sit too high on your head. The chin strap is easy to adjust and I like the padding under the chin and around the jaw area. You can also remove the chin strap if you don’t want to use it. There are also universal slots on the side of the helmet so you can add ear defenders and safety visors. The manufacturer sells some nice looking clear and darkened visor accessories specifically for this helmet at Home Depot. I did notice that the exterior of the box stated that there were four self-adhesive reflective stickers included however there was no sign of them anywhere inside the box. The helmet and LED lamp come with a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. The helmet is made in China.

I am part of our community's Community Emergency Response Team and, as such, I always carry my emergency response pack. This pack includes a protective hard-hat, strap-on headlight and powerful flash light. I'm so pleased with my Klein Safety Helmet! It is soooo much more comfortable than the standard hard-hat/safety helmet. It has an excellent head pad that is adjustable and removable (to clean). The integrated, USB-charged head lamp is very handy too with 3 beam intensities, one being very bright and one being muted with good spread. The adjustable side vents are great for mitigating between hot and cold environments.

Its kind of hard to rate an item like this until after something falls on me or i take a fall and land hard on the helmet. It is a nice helmet, easy to adjust, and comfortable. The light is always a great feature as well, and i like that the vents can be closed. I don't feel like i can give an honest rating, though, until it actually has to protect my head.
