A:Â A profilator is a specialized machine that Klein Tools uses to get very precise geometry on screwdriver heads. The word "profilated" was coined at Klein to communicate that the tools are made this way and the term was added to our catalogs, along with a description of the benefits of the method. Over time, the name became associated with Klein Tools as a manufacturing source, and thus achieved trademark status, while its function has become obscured.
The profilation process is essentially a simultaneous spinning and grinding process, allowing us to shape and sharpen the tips of our drivers at the same time. The primary alternative to profilation is forging the tip of the driver in place, then rough cutting to eliminate extraneous material, then grinding. Our screwdriver tips are precision ground and sharpened by a profilating machine, and so are going to be harder and sharper than most, and the tolerances of the tip will be tighter.

A:Â It is Klein's attempt at being fancy. It is not a real word. I us these tools in my shop daily and the tips hold up for several years just as good as snap on.

Easy to use. works for guys not handy at all
I used this tool to replace my bedroom 3 way outlet. Before buying it, i tried so hard to install the outlet and cut the wires using a regular scissor. it failed. since the scissor will cut the brass and the outlet doesn’t take it very well.
once bought this tool, and generated the right curves, and boom, it’s on. i’d suggest home depot to link this tool to all outlet pages, so people don’t have to experience the wait.

I am very pleased with the Klein 6-inch screwdriver! It has a quality construction with a a comfortable, non slip cushioned grip! The long shank is helpful for repairs on my kids' electronic devices and my vacuum cleaners. The blade and tip are forged strong and have not damaged during use, even on tough screws. I have incorporated this tool into my collection and plan to use it for many years to come!

The first thing I like about this Klein Tool's screwdriver is that it's made in the U.S.A.. I also like marking on the handle. Since I store mine in a manner that you see the handles this makes it nice finding the one I want. I generally would use a sharpie and draw on the handles. This screwdriver has a 4" handle with a nice rubber grip which helps when using it for awhile.

I had previously reviewed a basic screwdriver where I bemoaned that there wasn't much to say about something so basic. After using this Klein screwdriver, it made me realize that earlier statement was a lie -- there's a LOT that makes this a SUPERIOR screwdriver. From one end to the other, Klein has differentiated their screwdriver with features that make this my newest "go to" screwdriver. The blade tip is incredibly sharp and precise to minimize the possibility of jumping out of the screw slot when torqued, and the ground edges are blacked to protect against corrosion without dulling the edge. (SERIOUSLY sharp tip -- Klutz that I am, I did have concerns with cutting myself if the blade did slip.) The shank is round and durable; I didn't detect any flexing when using the screwdriver as a lever. The handle has a rubberized grip that made it easy to hold onto and turn, even when wearing gloves. The butt-end of the handle has an engraved and white printed indication of the tip shape so that, handle up in a tool belt, you can easily select the desired tool.
I hadn't had this screwdriver long enough to judge its durability, but if it matches the longevity of my other Klein Tools, it may outlast cockroaches, Twinkies, and the zombie apocalypse.

The Klein Tools cushion-grip 6 inch cabinet-tip screwdriver with heavy-duty round shank is a quality tool. The tip is 1/4" wide that fits perfectly in the adjustment screw on hidden hinges. The cushion grip is very comfortable in your hand and gives the user a non-slip grip. The screwdriver is manufactured in the USA in Mansfield, Texas. A good addition to your tool box.

This screwdriver is certainty a tool for routine/daily use. It has an incredible handle and fits my hand perfectly (L size glove). The cushion lets you apply a lot of torque without having to clamp down on the handle too hard, which is a huge benefit for a person with a hand injury, like myself.
The blade is precision machined, my first test is always to feel how 'square' the blade is. If the edges are rounded (often the case with cheap drivers, or drivers with a heavy coating) they will slip more easily from the slot in the screw head. This blade engages perfectly in #8 and #10 slots. Daily use for a week does not show wear, or the shank twisting at all. Hard to find a better screwdriver - EXCELLENT!

The klein cabinet tip screwdriver has the perfect sized handle. Super easy to grasp and apply lots of torque to the tool with the deep handle groves. The top end (handle) shows the orientation of the tip amd shows what size that to is(6" in this case) if placed in a tool bag with handles up. I totally recommend the klein brand screw drivers for your screw driver needs. Made in USA, super nice grip.

Really good cushion grips on these. We tried them dry handed and wet handed and the gripping is superior even wet. If you are in a hot environment where you might get sweaty, these are great. Grip says it will not protect against shocks or electric. Made in USA. The blade tip is really sharp for small screws. This is far better than the plain screw drivers one normally has in a tool box, worth the price.

This Klein tool cushion-grip screw driver feels well made when you pick it up. The cabinet-tip blade is shaped extremely well and the blade is tough. The 6 inch shaft is super stiff and accurate, with the round shank easily turning inside your finger grip. Also, when using the screw driver the rubber feel end grip stops any slipping and helps keep the blade in the screw slot..
