Invest in alot of batteries
Eats batteries unbelievably fast. My older Kwikset locks I have to change batteries once a year. And those doors get used more than the "Halo". As these fail I will try another brand.

Halo WiFi Smart Lock
The Halo we purchased was one of the few that had WiFi without needing an Alexa or Google device. The install worked well. The worst part was having to drill a new deadbolt and strike hole. Kwikset should consider making one of these with WiFi and a doorknob as part of the unit.

My Smart Lock
This Smart Lock was easy to install similar to my ring doorbell. The satin nickle finish makes my front door look rich. I feel more sure secure knowing when my front door was locked or unlocked. Would definitely recommend this Halo Smart Lock!

Install was easy. Working well so far
The step by step installation guide through the app was great. The animations were helpful. I also liked how the box included smaller numbered boxes as you progressed through the install. I must admit I was originally looking to buy a third Schlage Encode smartlock but Home Depot was out of stock. I decided to try the Kwikset Halo. It seems to work just fine. My only complaints are that the mechanism is more noisey compare to the Schlage.

Perfect lock for vacation rental!
The Kwikset Halo Keypad lock was easy to install and program. So far it works totally as expected. It is the perfect lock for my vacation rental as I can monitor battery life from a distance as issue different codes for various people who need access.

Easy to install
This lock was easy to install and program!! I was truly surprised at how easy it was to install and program the lock and program additional users and codes. I highly recommend this wifi enabled lock.

Kwikset Halo Keypad Lock
The good with this lock it works well as a basic keypad opening and locking lock. The installation process was average and is doable by someone with basic background. The App is easy to install and not bad to use and connect to your router wifi. The App works well initially when bluetooth installed and then wifi installed. You must be in the home to install the app which is an issue and a negative if you lose wifi connection. Mine has consistently lost wifi connection after a few days and I have had to go through the reconnection process with bluetooth. Again that works if you're at the home if like in my case I'm in another state for months that process doesn't work. I was told by support that you must use a specific router which is indicated on the box but I didn't notice that? I have Xfinity wifi and router that is not a preffered router, how can that be Xfinity is huge wifi and cable company. The last big issue is the battery life is very poor, new batteries last less than 2 months approximately. If your like me and away for 4-5 months at a time that doesn't work well. I like Kwikset products but can not recommend this product due to the issue with losing wifi connection and very poor battery life. Even of you use it as just the keypad you will have to change batteries often even with little use as mine is with me away.
Maybe with firmware upgrades things will be better??????

1. Check that your door is properly aligned and that the door frame jamb hole is one inch deep and clear of debris for the latch to extend fully into the jamb hole.
2. Loosen the screws on the interior assembly a quarter turn to ensure the lock is not binding.
3. Re-orientate the latch by performing the door handing process.

Nice lock
Replace my entry door figured I would replace the hardware also this lock installed in about an hour and works as it should keypad is nice no keys to carry works with smart home Alexa can the door from bed. Quality of all Hardware is top-notch.

Halo Keypad
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These keypad locks are a great innovation. Useful for my kids so they don’t have to carry a house key. Even my five year old knows the code and can open the door. Would also be excellent for AirBnB uses because you can program 250 codes and the app notifies you when someone opens/locks the door. It took about an hour to install, including programming. Directions were clear and all parts were labeled well. Uses 4 AA batteries. Best part is I was able to key the new lock to my original lock so my house keys still work the same.
