    Q:I have exactly 2 5/8" room on the center cross board of a bifold door, which in the detailed specs is the same width of the back plate. Would this look good to dress up a bifold door or would the width of the back plate look too oversized? Thanks!

      A:  This is a surface mount dummy knob that screws directly into the door.           A:  It’s been a couple of years since I installed these but from what I remember the dummy knobs are for looks only, no function. The half dummy was just one knob (that we used on a closet door that only needed a knob on the outside because it has a ball closure on the top of the door) and the regular dummy has 2 knobs (that we used for half of a stationary French door for looks only, not any functionality).               Not easy to install but good quality and value product
              I replaced all the half dummy door knobs to all closets in my house and I'm overall satisfied with the product. The installation is harder because it requires some brute force applied to screwing the screws in the door while holding the knob in a fixed position with the other hand. The best case is if somebody helps you out holding the knob in position while you put in the screws.

              Needed antique brass knobs
              Needed a “dummy” knob for MIL’s door. After ordering & receiving the second one (one inside, one outside), they look great. She wanted the same color as previous. Thank goodness for the internet, since antique brass isn’t in fashion any longer
