    I had someone install it and it took him less than 30 minutes so if you know what you're doing, then it will be quick to install. It works...it took more time to sync up with the app--but once I restarted my phone, it worked. Don't buy the keyfob for this--it's not compatible since it's a converter.

      The product was easy to install I had a little problem connecting to my wifi. Found the circuit board in front of the battery disconnected from its connector. After pushing the circuit board down into its connector I was able to connect to my wifi. This product works great and responds fast when locking and unlocking the dead bolt lock.

      Frustrating!
      My overall experience with this lock can be described as frustrating. I love the concept and was anxious to get the lock installed so I could monitor my back door lock activity and position. There are no written instructions except to download the Kevo app for compatibility and instructions. I could not get the app to download on my Samsung 6. After several tries and a lot of time, my wife finally got the app on her LG3 phone so we could begin the installation process. The installation instructions on the app are pretty good and because of my occupation, I have installed hundreds of locksets and deadbolts so this part wasn’t too bad. After the install, the throw bolt on the deadbolt would not retract all the way, stopping at 50%. I reinstalled two more times, being careful to follow the instructions but the results were the same. Just to insure I wasn’t doing something wrong or the problem was with my existing Kwikset deadbolt, I gave this lock to my nephew, who also has a lot of experience with installing locks. His outcome was the same as mine; the lock would not retract the bolt 100%. No written instructions available, no 1-800 number to call for support so I boxed the lock back up where it now sits. This is the convert model which is supposed to adapt to existing deadbolts so perhaps the Kevo model with the entire kit would perform better. All I can say is that my experience with this lock was frustrating. I recorded video of the lock malfunction but could not get it to download so I regret that I cannot share this part.

      Nice, would like to see WiFi version
      My wife is a Realtor and has run into a number of smart locks, smart deadbolts, and PIN-code locks/deadbolts. She had been wanting one for our house for its convenience, but she couldn't find one that worked with our current deadbolt without re-keying it. The Kevo Convert Smart Lock fit the bill perfectly. It works with a number of locks, including Schlage, so using our current key was not a problem. Installation was a breeze, almost no need for instructions. The interactive installation guide was great, and made the installation a 5-minute process. The lock itself feels sturdy, and the action is smooth, and the look of the interior parts (the parts on the door facing the inside of the house) are very nice. The exterior parts of the deadbolt are not changed, so if you have the outside look you like, you're in luck. Locking and unlocking with our current key feels no different than with the OEM parts. The bluetooth connection is stable and the range is excellent. When I installed the lock, the latch was rotated in a way that made the bottom of the handle the latch indicator rather than the top. I reset the lock and went through the programming from the beginning and the orientation corrected itself, so no worries if your 5-year old installs the batteries before you've programmed the orientation of the lock. The noise the lock makes when locking and unlocking using the app are very loud, but this is expected from a small motor that has to move a relatively heavy deadbolt. I would also like to see this with WiFi connectivity - provided Kevo secures the app and connections properly so hackers don't get ahold of your door lock. It would be very handy for those times you need to let someone into your home while you're not around. Pair this with a Ring doorbell, and it would be a great way to secure and control access to your home while you're away.

            Returned. Was not happy with it at all. It won't work with any type of electronic keypad, and the Bluetooth is intermittent at best. Holding phone within inches of the lock, sometimes it'll unlock within 2-3 tries, other times you might be there for 5 minutes repeatedly hitting unlock

                  Instalation went smooth but actually getting the device to retract or engage the bolt just wouldn't work. Phone displayed it was connected and I could physically turn the bolt, but it would not not respond to phones commands. Returning tomorrow.

                  We're here to help! To fix this, please ensure that the deadbolt was installed with the latch in the extended position. Next, replace the batteries and perform the manual handing process.
                  1. Open the door and extend the latch to the locked position.
                  2. Remove the battery pack.
                  3. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Release button once the battery pack is installed. The status LED will flash red and green.
                  4. Press the Program button once more.
                  5. The latch bolt will retract about halfway in and then extend to learn the orientation of the door. Also please ensure that you are using name-brand alkaline batteries, avoiding lithium and rechargeable batteries. Measure the door frame jamb hole to ensure that it's at least 1 inch deep for the latch to extend fully. Check that your door is aligned properly, that the interior mounting screws are not too tight, and perform the manual door handing process as described in your lock's installation guide.                         DO NOT BUY: It'll work fine after you set it up, but you'll have to recalibrate it every few weeks for the rest of your life.
                        BIG ISSUE: If the deadbolt isn't ***perfectly*** aligned with the door jam then it can catch and the whole unit resets itself and blows its calibration. It's not smart enough to forget this one incident either. That is, it'll work great 50 times, and then your kid will slam the door, so it's misaligned by 1/16" and the next time you operate it it's done. So, then you have to take it apart and recalibrate it. I mean, that takes 2 minutes, but this has happened once every few weeks.

It should be a full 1 inch deep, and clear of any debris so the latch can extend fully when locking.                             Don't buy if it is going to have Sun on it!
                            I really liked this lock at first but as the weather got hotter and the longer it was exposed to the sun it became harder andcharder to use. I sometimes have to use my t-shirt over my finger to wake up the screen. I tried new batteries and still have problems.
