Kwikset Prescott Satin Nickel Single Cylinder Entry Door Handleset with Tustin Lever Featuring SmartKey Security has a Lifetime Warranty and was quite simple to install. My wife volunteered to install it if I would do the dishes. I agreed because we have a dishwasher. I gave her the directions and she said she didn’t need them. When I saw that the deadbolt was askew, I asked her what happened and she said it didn’t fit our hole properly. After reviewing the directions, we find out she forgot a piece that would make the deadbolt fit correctly. The lesson here is, read the directions first, even if you think you know what you’re doing. So the deadbolt is crooked due to user error, which I will fix later. Both the Handleset and deadbolt fit into the door’s existing holes without and extra drilling. The install took less than an hour and was easy. This is a superior quality Handleset with certified highest security deadbolt. The SmartKey feature worked like a charm and we were able to re-key to match our other doors. See pics below.

Kwikset Prescott Entry Door Handleset Let me start by saying I love this handset. I have used Kwikset locks and door handle products for decades and have always found them to be great. This handleset came packaged in a nice display box that allowed you to quickly see how nice it looked. The package included quite a number of pieces and an instruction sheet. The directions were not the clearest but using them I was able to figure out how to install the lock, it is actually quite easy. The handset bottom hole has an ingenious design that should allow it to align with any previous similar handset. If you need to drill the bottom hole the provided template works perfectly, the instructions indicate you should drill a 7/16 hole but a much smaller hole will work fine. Since my old lock was a Kwikset I was able to take advantage of the Kwikset Smartkey to rekey the lock to work with my existing keys. The process to do this is very easy. My first attempt worked but the key did not unlock the lock smoothly so I did it again and it worked perfectly. The build quality is terrific. The lock set it heavy and robust, the fit and finish is outstanding and it comes with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty. This Kwikset entry door lock and handset are a nice look for upgrading the front door. This Prescott model has a satin nickel finish that looks good on the exterior brown side and the white interior side. It is not just a good look, it has features that make this secure for the household. It is resistant to cutting, drilling, picking and kicking in. The handset does not have a lockset on it, but there is a deadbolt to secure. There is the smart key feature so that lock can be re keyed without needing a new cylinder or lock. It is also available in venetian bronze.

The finish on the Kwikset satin nickel door handle and lock is beautiful. Be mindful that many lockset have the deadbolt centered on the lockset hole. This one is near the bottom so drilling the lockset holes in the manner I have used several times before doesn't work for these locks. Fortunate I am one of those people who read instructions and used the template that came with the lock set. I point this out because it cannot serve as a replacement for many existing locks. but the finished product is amazing

Here's a lockset with a confidence inspiring appearance complete with a durable finish (lifetime warranty) equipped with Kwikset technology for ease of managing your security systems. Not only is designed for left or right side opening doors but comes with extra inside handle to assure aesthetic appeal. The included instructions are for several different models so some care is needed by the installer to sort through which portions are applicable or not. The mechanisms themselves have more than average adjustments that allow for fitment without having to modify the door's openings which is helpful but at the same time can be somewhat confusing during setup. My favorite ease of installation incorporated trick is the self-aligning outdoor long handle fastening stud which eliminates the frustrating chore of drilling a hole in exactly the right place since nothing cries "amateur" more then something being crooked.

Very nice set, and includes the Smartkey feature that I've used and enjoyed with other Kwikset products, which allows you to rekey all your Kwikset locks to the same key. Note that the instructions were confusing because they are written for a generic handleset, rather than being specific to this model. The illustrations show something that looks completely different, and even has multiple options listed depending on the lock you have, but you have to figure that out on your own (specifically regarding whether the inside handle has exposed screws, which this model does not, but some do). Overall, I like the product, and the Smartkey feature is great.

It looks so amazing and beautiful the design it’s self is well thought out and looks sturdy so will last a long time I’m sure. Made with great detail and quality design. I love the thumb trigger as it’s much easy to open rather then turning a big plain knob. And the inside handle to pull down is so smooth and easy. Best ever

We had to install backwards because of the existing holes. But by installing the big handle on the inside we were able to make it work. We will be getting a new door next month. Install went well. Only trouble was the thermology used for the KEY setup. New Key – Old Key – Smart Key tool- current KEY – 1. Current key = the key that works with lock out of the box. 2. Old Key Same as the Current key out of the box. 3. New Key = Your old house key if you are replacing the old lock set and have a key for the rest of the doors, and want all key the same. 4. Smart key TOOL = Small flat metal tool that came with this lock set. This set looks GREAT

We really love the look feel and quality of this Kwikset Prescott Single Cylinder Handleset on our front door. But the smartkey security does not let this deadbolt work with an August Smartlock. If not for that flaw I would have given this beautiful Entry Door Handleset 5 stars. Every part of this set is first rate. The finish is deep and solid and should hold up for years. The mechanisms work effortlessly. The included instructions are very well thought out and this was quite easy to install, other than the7/16th bit required for the bottom hole for the long handle. I used a 5/16th and it worked fine. Besides feeling solid it looks great. A very good handleset at a great price.

I like the way it looks, the design, the grib, the handle all so nice, fits nicely to your hand. It was easy to install, and the ability to ajust in diffrent ways was great, so this way i could use the already exsisting holes. the material is strong i feel safe with the lock and deadbolt. i recommend this set!
