Re-Key as Easy as 1-2-3

Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new KW1 key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.

Key turning 90 degrees to the right

  
Step 1

Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

Step 2

A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.
B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.

Step 3

A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.
B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now 
re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

    For the San Clemente dummy handleset, model 819SCE LIP, the Halifax lever dummy interior pack is model # 973HFL SQT. The Halifax lever dummy interior pack includes the lever and faceplate to cover the deadbolt's interior hole; it does not have a turn-piece. Only the active sets include a turn-piece.

    The San Clemente Handleset fits on a door with a borehole diameter of 1-1/2” or 2-1/8" and a thickness between 1-3/8" to 2-1/4". Thick door kits are required for doors between 1-7/8” to 2-1/4” thick. The latch fits a backset of either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4". If your french door meets these measurements, then the handleset can be installed.

    Love the matte black door handle set! It was exactly like the picture and add a very nice touch to our front door. The only thing I didn’t think about before I purchased it was the convenience of being able to lock the door and then close it behind you when leaving. These kind of sets only have a deadbolt. But we’ve gotten used to it and it’s been worth it!

    This lock set is awesome. It was very easy to install, including getting all of the parts to be level with each other. The quality is excellent. As you can see from the picture, we used the same color kick plate and added new aged bronze numbers to update our front door very nicely.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This security door handle is fantastic! Heavy duty, but looks absolutely gorgeous against my new door. Living in a large city, security is always on my mind, and this lock makes me feel better about that, especially when my fella is away. It comes with everything you need and easy to follow instructions. So easy that we got it installed in just over an hour (includes removal time of old handle). Now, we're both feeling better

    This product looks nice enough but you cannot get it with double cylinder deadbolt. Only single. I bought a second single deadbolt thinking I would be able to combine them and make a double. I have done this many times before with standard kwikset deadbolts. This deadbolt has a secondary interior tumbler that looks especially flimsy. And because of the design it is impossible to make it double. So I ended buying another style of deadbolt that could be ordered as a double. Also this was supposed to have a small cover for the lower handle. It was not in the packaging.
