SmartKey Security features re-key technology, which allows you to re-key your locks yourself in seconds, because we realize the person who has your key today may not be the same person you want to have your key tomorrow.
Protects Against Common Break-in Methods
Kwikset's SmartKey Security is designed to protect against common types of break-ins to keep your family safe. SmartKey Security is kick-in resistant, bump proof, pick resistant, drill resistant, and saw resistant. Kwikset SmartKey Security also allows you to re-key the lock yourself in seconds, leaving lost or unreturned keys obsolete.
Re-Key as Easy as 1-2-3
Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new KW1 key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.
Step 1
Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
Step 2
A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.
B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.
Step 3
A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.
B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now
re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

This is very nice looking on my door It was easy to key it to my mesh Tec security door so now I have one key for my doors! Also like that all I have to do is pick the lock symbol and door is locked! Also just ouch in code and door unlocks!

Easy to install
I bought this to replace a deadbolt. I was a little intimidated, so I also looked on YouTube. This was pretty easy to install. I already had a a Kwikset lock and didn't need to take out the apparatus (don't know what is called) that was already there. It was worth every dollar. If you become intimidated with the instructions, I suggest you check out YouTube.

lousy battery life
Loved this set. I also bought the matching handle. It looks great and is great when it works BUT having to replace the batteries once a month is a bit much. So i still have to take my keys when i take my morning walk to guarantee i can get back in my house. Kwikset customer service/tech department are useless. I do not recommend this product unless Kwikset makes it right. Could be a defect but I’ll never know.

To allow the batteries to last longer and prevent jamming, please measure your door jamb hole. It should be a full 1 inch deep, and clear of any debris so the latch can extend fully when locking. A little tougher to install than I thought. Had to drill a hole through the door to secure the lower psrt of the outside handle (wasn't expecting that). Also had to use a chisel to put on new plates. Other than that it looks good and works good. Never need to use a key again!

I love kwikset’s keeyless entry. I never have to dig out my keys from my purse to get into my house. If battteries go I can always use my house key which you can match to your original. It was easy to install and a breeze to operate.

Great keyless deadbolt
Was in no hurry to install this keyless deadbolt. Took my time, luckily everything fit in the preexisting opening where my old deadbolt was. The instructions were pretty clear and helpful. I am very well pleased with the look and functionality of this product.
