About This Product
The SmartCode touchscreen electronic deadbolt is a one-touch locking motorized deadbolt. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry and the back-lit keypad provides increased visibility. It features patented Secure Screen technology to prevent code detection from fingerprints on the touchscreen. SmartCode is easy to install, program and use, and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey Security as the back-up keyway. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. Complete your entryway refresh with a matching Kwikset door lever or handleset.

Can more than one user code be assigned and is there a limited number?
The SmartCode 915 will hold up to 16 user codes, 4-8 digits per code.
Can the 30 second auto lock be programmed for a longer time. Example 60-90 seconds?
The SmartCode 915 Touchscreen Venetian Bronze Single Cylinder Keypad Electronic Deadbolt Featuring SmartKey Security comes with the 30 second auto-lock feature only and does not have a feature to change the auto-lock time delay.
What is included? I saw a 'bundle' which makes me think I need to purchase something else with this even though the picture shows 4 pieces.

Does the lower handle/lever lock or is it only the dead bolt that locks?
The Avalon handle does not include a lock, only a plain latch. The only lock provided in this set is on the electronic deadbolt, which offers BHMA grade 2 certified security.
How long do the batteries last on average?
A fresh alkaline batteries should last from 6 to 12 months, depending on usage. Also, please sure the batteries are name-brand alkaline, avoiding lithium and rechargeable batteries.
My front door gets the full sun in the afternoon. How will this product perform with the direct sunlight?
The SmartCode 915 lock can withstand temperature ranges of -40°F to 150°F for the exterior, and 32°F to 140°F for the interior. Any conditions outside of these ranges may cause inconsistencies in the lock’s performance.
Can the handle set fit cross holes of 2 7/8 distance? (Replacing a Weslock)
This model is compatible with a backset borehole diameter of 2 1/8" and would not be compatible with a backset borehole diameter of 2 7/8".
What temperature range will the exterior portion of this lockset tolerate? My front door faces due-west and receives prolonged extreme heat in the summer months (up to 6 hours of exceeding 100F).
The SmartCode 915 Touchscreen Electronic Deadbolt comes with a temperature range of -40°F to 150°F for the exterior and 32°F to 140°F for the interior. The exterior has 100% condensing and 30% to 95% non-condensing for the interior. The interior for this model is not designed for exterior use and should be undercover and needs to be protected from the elements. The exterior can be installed on an outside door but not be exposed to direct weather.

The SmartCode 915 is a stand-alone electronic deadbolt, which only works by using the touchscreen, interior turn-piece or physical key. This model will not connect to an app. For the Kwikset Aura lock, you can connect it to the Kwikset app and use it in Bluetooth range.
