This kit comes with 4 pre-cut keys and 2 pre-cut temporary keys. If you use this kit, you will need to rekey your lock to the keys in this kit and will not be able to use the keys that came with your lock.
How can I open a simple quickset lock when I lost the key
To replace a lost key, you can have another Kwikset key randomly cut. Take the cylinder out of the unit and have the lock department at your local home improvement store use the resetting cradle to read the newly cut key to your lock.
if I want 8 keys do I buy 2 of these kits or can you only have 4 keys at once? Also, can I use the two keys that came with my original kit and the 4 keys from this kit so I have 6 of the same key?
You can purchase one set and make more copies of the keys at a local key cutter.
