A: Hello, Yes the LESCO 13-3-13 can be applied to turf at a rate of 6.5 to 7lbs of fertilizer for every 1000 square feet of turf area. The label does not provide any spreader setting recommendations for a turf application so calibrating your spreader to this application rate will be an important step. Q:The bag says "Palm and Tropical", yet you say "Lesco 13-3-13 is considered a general purpose fertilizer for lawns, palms, tropicals, ornamentals and flowers. It does not list any specific plants". Why aren't all the trace minerals listed?

Where is the Manganese and Boron?

A professional landscape supply company has a different "Lesco Professional Palm and Tropical Ornamental Fertilizer"granular 13-3-13 fertilizer listed on their site, but it is not available for sale. The guaranteed analysis on that product label includes manganese and boron (see attached), which I believe are two required nutrients. Unless I overlooked it, I did not see these two nutrients listed on the guaranteed analysis label for Lesco's 13-3-13 product for sale at Home Depot. Since the University of Florida advises that palms can benefit from ADDITIONAL applications of manganese (in addition to the manganese that is suppose to be included in the regular quarterly applications of palm fertilizer), I already have manganese purchased and apply it between my quarterly maintenance applications of palm fertilizer; however, since this product does not include any manganese or, I will be increasing my applications of manganese, which will increase my cost . Except for the missing manganese and boron, this looks like a decent product, but I will have to wait and see the results. Since this product is missing manganese and boron, I would not recommend this product.
