The Lamanco brand wind turbines are better than most. A few "wobble" during the spin (slightly), but they still operate just fine. Again, comparing to others and other brands out there. If contacted for "suggestions," would be happy to give details on how to improve! :) But thanks for a good product.

I purchase two of these items and they worked a a perfect replacement for my defective whirlybirds. The manufacturer bearing warranty was a big part of the selection of this item as my existing whirlybirds had stopped working due to bearing failure . They were the exact replacement part needed for the job and installation couldn't have been easier using another one of Home Depot products (naming a "roof ridge ladder hook"). I simply used the turbine part to replace my existing defective ones, thus I did not need to cut any holes in my roof or reseal any of the joints.

Just what I needed. And easy to install on the existing base on the roof. The 3 brackets screw in from the outside. I needed to replace an old turbine that died. If any more of the existing turbines fail, I will be replacing with these. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to make it an option to only buy the turbine piece (the top part that spins) without the base. As a replacement part. I now have a big piece with no use for it.

Replaced a 12yo Lomanco Whirlybird
12yo Whirlybird one of two on my roof. After 12 years one had bearing problems. Easy 3 screw R&R was so nice to have the same design and just slip off slip on with 3 screws. Now maybe there is a warrenty but who cares as long as I did not have to pull up the shingles and re install the base I am very very happy. Two on roof one spins coastally the other which I replace only spins occasionally so it is not Whirlybird issue it is airflow, Could be a slight tilt angle in the install but I can not see a difference in angle.

It was well packed and delivered with no damage. I only needed the top part. It fit onto the place from which the old one was removed. It wobbled a bit as it spun. It did not spin as fast and easily as the others - maybe it needs some break-in time. Note to other buyers - the box says it has a lifetime guarantee. The one I removed was also a LOMANCO and I should have checked about the guarantee before buying this one. That removed one’s top bearings had worn out and in a strong wind and it growled, and didn’t spin in light winds while the others did. This new one is quicker to stop in light or no wind and starts later and spins slower than the others (over twenty years old), but no more growling. I suspect the greater degree of wobble in the spin will shorten its life. The others (and the removed one) are more than 20 years old and wobble less. I noted the wobble right out of the box before I installed it, but it spun just fine. I kept the box in the attic for the next owner just in case. Hopefully I won’t need to test the guarantee.
