A: It is all plastic. But very good quality though.
A: This clock's parts are plastic. The panels around the LCD are plastic with a finish to look like wood.
A: No, the clock is not built to withstand outdoor conditions. The wireless temperature sensor is weather-resistant, so must be placed outside protected from direct sunlight (for accuracy) and constant precipitation (rain) for last performance for the clock to receive outdoor temperature readings.
A: Transmitting temperature sensor has range of: -40 F to 140 F ( -40 C to 60 C) In colder months, you may use a more heavy duty battery in the sensor. Please visit our website for more FAQ's: https://www.lacrossetechnology.com/pages/la-crosse-tech-products or see our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/lacrossetechnology/playlists and search for our Mounting your Outdoor Temperature sensor tutorial video. *As always, we recommend for accuracy and lasting performance, mount the sensor in a location preferably on a North-facing wall, out of direct sunlight and constant precipitation (a light mist is only acceptable) and mount vertically (battery compartment up/down, not side-to-side) for proper moisture drainage from battery compartment.
A: Thank you for the replies, I should have been more specific... can the clock part be hung outside? (my Dad has a similar one that needs to be replaced so I am looking for an atomic, digital clock with temperature (does not need to have indoor reading)?
A: The interior portion, that is the display is hung inside. The temperature sensor is hung outside. It seems to work well in the cold weather here.
A: Inside the mail order (brown box) packaging is a flap tucking the clock tightly into package, below where the clock sits. Unwrapping that lower flap will expose where the temperature sensor would be placed. A: Good morning!! Thank you ever so much for your answer. I kept waiting for an email for my answer. Didn't;t realize it would come on your site. Did what you said. Thought the box was just folded to a tight mailing fit. Voila!! Sensor!! Thanks!!!!
