A:  No, the clock is not built to withstand outdoor conditions. The wireless temperature sensor is weather-resistant, so must be placed outside protected from direct sunlight (for accuracy) and constant precipitation (rain) for last performance for the clock to receive outdoor temperature readings.

A:  Transmitting temperature sensor has range of: -40 F to 140 F ( -40 C to 60 C) In colder months, you may use a more heavy duty battery in the sensor. A:  Thank you for the replies, I should have been more specific... can the clock part be hung outside? (my Dad has a similar one that needs to be replaced so I am looking for an atomic, digital clock with temperature (does not need to have indoor reading)?

A:  The interior portion, that is the display is hung inside. The temperature sensor is hung outside. It seems to work well in the cold weather here.

A:  Inside the mail order (brown box) packaging is a flap tucking the clock tightly into package, below where the clock sits. Unwrapping that lower flap will expose where the temperature sensor would be placed.
