Product Details

Coolguard is a powerful, high performance 100% acrylic elastomeric roof sealer that uses Thermaflex technology to significantly reduce interior temperatures. The Thermaflex formula contains tiny insulating micro-spheres that dramatically increase in size as the temperature of the sealer rises, which prevents heat from being absorbed by the surface. This single-component acrylic urethane product reflects UV rays to reduce heat and provides a single monolithic layer that waterproofs and insulates the surface. It applies and dries ultra-white.

Q:Can I use this in my basement cement walls and floor also can I paint over this??????

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Susie, no you should not use the Lanco Coolguard as insulation for you cement walls and floors. What we suggest to use for your cement walls in the basement is the Dry-Coat Primer and then paint on top with any latex paint. We never use our roof sealers on the floors.

Q:Could Coolguard be used inside a metal shipping container for insulation; ... making use of the ceramic beads or micro spheres I have read about?
        by|Nov 2, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Hi CaptBill, no the Lanco Coolguard should not be used inside a metal shipping container for insulation. This product is meant for waterproofing and protecting a wide assortment of approved roofing system and/or substrates that are structurally sound such as conventional bituminous built-up roofs, concrete, metal, aged galvanized metal. It is to be used on the outside and not the inside.

          Very impressed. **Use Primer**
Overall very happy with the final product! Will definitely use again. Definitely better sprayed than rolled on can get thinned easily. Much better protection when thicker.

            Amazing
I bought three 5 gallon buckets to do my permanently placed RV roof and our renovated “shed” shingled roof. I read all the reviews first so there was some very good tips about what kind of roller and how it should be applied thick and not like painting a wall. It absolutely decreased the temperature inside significantly so my Mom ordered four 5 gallon buckets and I did her roof as well. It went on easier on the RV roof. I probably should have applied a different Lanco roofing product to the shingled roof first and then this product after because the shingles soaked up the product so much that the coverage area was not the same as the rv. If you live in the desert, I highly recommend applying this to your roof. We have prepaid electric , a box in our kitchen tells us exactly how much electric we are using per hour , per day etc. I did two coats on the RV roof and just one on my Moms roof and the per day electric has gone down 3$ a day so far. We live in Arizona and it’s been 100 degrees for the past few days. Can’t wait to see how much we save when it’s 120 degrees all summer.

I needed to stop the rain from leaking into my house. With one coat on my flat roof the leaks have disappeared.

                  It works
Re coated AZ flat roof with this product 2 years ago. Surface still looks new. Noticed interior temp was about 2 or 3 degrees cooler than just the cheaper, plain white elastomeric paint from before. It withstands minor ponding, however, the ponding in AZ only lasts 1 day. Used 10 gal, 2 thin roller coats on 800 sqft. I quit buying cheap stuff a long time ago.

Best product on the market for the price point. 89% cooler roof vs black…. Definitely would recommend anyone to give it a try. My heavy equipment contractor is trying it out himself.
