Can this be used on asphalt to prepare for seal coat

Asked by: Jason
It depends on which seal you intend to use. If you use All Acrylic then this will be fine as a primer.

I have cracks on the oil spot. Should I fill the crack first or apply this primer first and then fill the cracks?
Asked by: Billy
As this is a primer, I would apply the primer and then fill the cracks. The primer prepares the surface for filler or asphalt repair by coating the oil soaked surface.

Can this be used on concrete floors with oil stains before painting the floor? Already tried to clean and paint the floor but spots are bubbling up where oil is present. Wondering if this can go down then a water based concrete paint put over it to help the bond.
Asked by: Brendanl
I do not know about on concrete, but it sure works on asphalt. I had a huge issue with a long leaking car. I started out using some Tide granular detergent and put it on with very little water, worked it in with a stiff broom and let it sit for about 10 minutes then added a little more water to it again and scrubbed it with a broom again letting it sit for about 10 more minutes, repeating the process 2-3 more times. I hosed off completely the area and let it dry a day. Then I used this stuff and absolutely nothing penetrated through the sealer, and it has been a year. I frankly did not expect this to work, but it did. One question is is the paint you are using is it latex or oil based. This is latex based so if you are trying to paint oil paint over the top of latex might be a problem.

It actually helped speed up the dry time of a new cold patch I put down as well. So instead of 2-4 weeks for dry time for the cold patch it was about a week. I would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oil spot primer works If your planning on recoating your driveway or having a professional do it, I would reccomend this product. No driveway is oil spot free, but if you scrub the spots with some simple Green or Dawn and rinse throughly, you will still never eliminate old oil spots. 1-2 qts of this stuff will be enough to cover basic oil spots / stains on most driveways. Simply pour a little on the spot, use a cheap disposable brush to spread out and paint on the primer to cover the spots. Follow directions and your driveway sealer will stick much better/ last much longer on those tough to cover spots. Ask your driveway professional if they plan on powerwashing the driveway.....if they do be sure to use this after the driveway dries ....usually a day before they come back to seal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dries great Goes on like milky white and dries hard and clear. In the sun it dries very quickly. Good crack penentration. A good solution to oil spots. Since the oil never really comes out of the spots no matter how much soap or degreaser you use this is a good solution to use before sealing your driveway. One bottle has a tremendous amount of coverage
