Anyone know how to remove the handles? I want to use my buckets with highly padded seats and attach a longer cord handle for easier carrying.

      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

The best way I've found with no damage to the bucket is to cut the handle near the end and work it out.

No lid included. Screw on lids are an extra item that adds a threaded piece to the bucket adapting it to the screw on lid.

                Perfect for hydroponic applications
Buckets are heavy duty and are better quality than the hydroponic store. I was so happy with them that I went back and ordered 4 more sets! Thanks homedepot.com for carrying this product and reasonably pricing them. Hope you stock more hydroponic supplies.

                Buckets Transformed!
I created my dream classroom this summer and these buckets were a great DIY project! I transformed these plain, black buckets into cute, functional stools! They offer valuable storage space and a great place for my first graders to sit.

The black bucket and separate lid are required to avoid sunlight penetration of plastic containers of liquids for my DIY organic gardening project.
I purchased several black 5 gallon buckets and black lids for my raised deck organic gardening drainage recycling project. First I added sealable, flexible lid gaskets obtained from a local pastry shop, from their 4.5 gallon ingredient bucket lids. They were easy to insert. The DIY raised organic gardening project consists of 15-15 gallon planters on trays fitted with drainage elbows and 1/2” black irrigation tubing to let the planter rain water drainage be collected below the deck perimeter to 5 of the buckets (yes, all of that organic drainage tea (fertilizer) would rot the wood decking), and collect in joined tubing to drain into several of the black buckets. The organic liquid will ferment within 7 days, and be live and active microbiology to enrich your foliage. The organic drainage is valuable, diluted one part dark organic liquid to 10 parts rain water or well water, filtered and sprayed onto lawns, flower beds, vegetable plants, strawberry beds, as direct foliage feeding, and on the ground drip lines around trees and bushes, as indirect root feeding. It would be prudent, however, to test spray feeding all plant samples and wait 24 hours to examine any that should not be sprayed. My tip is to hydrate all foliage in the early A.M., prior to direct spray feeding organic drainage liquid. Ref attached photo with one of the ten black bucket organic drainage storage in the center of the photo. No matter the use, all of the organic drainage liquid should be labeled and not stored where children or animals may gain access. The purpose of black plastic for the project is to screen out light which could otherwise grow algae. You don’t want any algae contaminating this valuable organic gardening byproduct, or any other liquid in storage. Direct spray feeding my lawn, flower bed, ferns, trumpet vines, and raised deck organic gardening, organic pest control has made my yard experience very rewarding. Best I have ever cared for, but it began with the correct equipment, storage buckets and lids.

                Very Versitile
Decided on these Leaktite project buckets to give container gardening a try. As you can see my tomato plants are quite content in these buckets and hopefully I'll be eating tomatoes in July.
