This white plastic 5 Gal. Food Safe Bucket is made of plastic and has a wide range of possible uses at any work site and home. It has a convenient carry handle and is ideal for carrying water or dividing bulk paint into smaller batches. The bucket is also safe for contact with food.

Q:I want to pack 100 feet of chain G43 (60 lb.) Can any one advice me better size of bucket to fit. this size is twice larger for 100 feet. The chains' size is clearly mentioned in attached picture.

A: Hello TGL: Your picture doesn't come through, but I think you are looking for a smaller bucket? We sell a 2-gallon & 3.5-gallon pail to Home Depot, but I don't think either would work for you. The 3.5 translucent gray pail is made from polypropylene and would not be strong enough. The 2-gallon is made from HDPE but, because of its size, would most likely not hold 60 lbs. Even though though it is large, a 5-gallon bucket may be best. You would not need the more expensive food-safe bucket for this purpose, the orange Homer buckets would do just as well at a lower cost. A: Hello Priss, Dry wheat should be okay for a long period. Of course, it depends on how you define that. We don't test for longevity of materials, so I can't give you any data. You'll want to make sure it is kept in a cool place and you have a good cover to keep out as much moisture as you can The screw-top lid (homedepot.com# 303808738) is the only food-safe lid we supply to Home Depot. Make sure it is installed properly and it should provide a good seal.

A: Hi Kandy, Yes, as the name implies, this bucket is considered food-safe. This is the only food-safe bucket we sell through Home Depot. All of our food-safe buckets have a red, white, and black sticker with a spoon, knife, and fork indicating that it is made from food-safe resin. Most manufacturers will explicitly mark their food-safe buckets in a similar way. In addition, our buckets are BPA free.

A: Hello Anon, We don't do any testing or have any data ourselves. There are many factors that will affect your liquid including how tight the lid is and where it is stored. Are there other wine makers you know who have experience? Looking online, the advice is anywhere from 6-8 months to 5 years. Dry goods are better stored. I'm sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer. A restaurant supplier may be able to guide you. We are primarily a DIY manufacturer.

Good for collecting Maple sap

I bought 8 of these to collect maple sap this season and they're working well so far. I bought screw on lids and drilled holes in the tops to run the hoses into the buckets. It keeps the bugs out and i just swap the lid for one without holes when the buckets fill and set aside until boiling day. The only Con is the $17 cost of the bucket and lid together. Save money and buy a homer bucket for anything that isn't food related.

So many uses - great quality

These buckets are great quality, and perfect for so many uses! We use them for dog food storage, cat food storage, turtle/tortoise pellet food, fish food, bird seed... they keep rats and other critters from being interested or entering our house/garage. We have used these containers to mix small batches of cement or other mixes as needed. We have also used these for camping toilets, or toilets during water outage. These have held up to all our uses! I highly recommend.

Perfect for storing food items purchased in bulk

Great sturdy bucket. I bought the heavy Leaktite inner twist lid to go with this bucket to store bulk sugar for my hummingbird feeders. I've been using this setup for 2 years, and it works just great. It's easy to get into the container with the inner twist off section, and I just leave the scoopers inside to quickly dish out what I need. I've never had an ant or other critter get in. I just purchased another Leaktite food grade bucket to store bulk dry rice in my pantry. Definitely saves money to buy in bulk. These buckets and lids are the way to go.
