A:  This edger only cuts vertically. If you edge from the top of the curb, it should work.

        Worth every penny
A solid product comes well packaged and takes about 10-15 minutes to get it assembled and ready to use. If using first time on thick lawn edges then use higher height and expect the edger to do a lots of heavy duty work to make your lawn look like country club entrance.. Very satisfied..

          Replacement blades are not available
This could be a 4 or 5 star edger however although it is a Home Depot private label item they don’t stock the correct replacement blade. Edgers go through blades and HD told me to order them from the manufacturer that is in China. This edger requires a rectangular mounting hole.

The Powercare Universal blade #125162 that is stocked in most Home Depot stores will fit this edger. The replacement blade (non Universal) for this Legend Force edger will be available shortly on THD.com. Please call our customer service department at 1 800 261-3981 M-F 8-5 Eastern if we can provide any assistance at this time.

            Great edger for small-medium jobs
This is a great little machine and will plow through anything that you throw at it, however, if you work the engine too hard for long periods of time, the intake manifold will get overheated and warp, causing the engine to lean out and either stall or run poorly, but it is no big deal because once the engine cools it will run great once again. I would recommend it although the intake design is poor.

The LEGEND FORCE 9 IN. 46 CC GAS POWERED 4-CYCLE WALK BEHIND LANDSCAPE EDGER is easy to use, easy adjusting and way easier then using your old handheld edger or a shovel. It comes disassembled but within 10 minutes you can have it up and going. As well as easy to disassemble by just 4 bolts with threaded nobs, it is very easy to start and very simple to understand how to operate. It takes normal gas and the oil is provided in the box. It has a quick adjust lifting and lowering system by just simply pushing down the front handle up to 5 different settings. One downside to it is that if you have anything other then straight lines to do, it can be very picky and doesn't like turns or circles. It is also very messy because it throws grass about 4 feet ahead and to the side of where you are working. Overall it is a very solid and sturdy unit that makes edging way easier.

The Legend Force gas powered lawn edger gives our lawn a professional finish with its straight, even, deep cut. It’s a much cleaner appearance than what my lawn trimmer could make. The rather loud 46cc engine has plenty of power to cut through my thick St. Augustine grass. I like how the blade doesn’t spin when you let the engine idle hands free, but once you give it some throttle, it engages. The only limitation is that it can’t cut on curbs since there is no curb wheel adjustment feature and it is too heavy to try to balance it. Otherwise, it’s great on sidewalks and driveways.

This 9 inch legend edger is one great little machine. By far much better than some of the cheaper units I've tried.. First off it comes well packaged so little need to worry about shipping damage,. Assembly is simple and requires no tools. Very easy to read and understand setup manual.... Works like a charm. After giving the engine a couple minutes to warm up I went down my driveway and next to some decorative stone like lickity split. Depth wheel is easy to set. EZ to start and operate. Handles fold down for storage if you wish..... Make sure you add the included 30 WT oil and make sure the oil level is up to the full mark. The oil sent with my machine was not enough to bring it to full. No big deal but don't take it for granted you'll be safe without checking the fluid level.....

I always wanted to see how different it is to use an edger instead of using my battery grass trimmer to make the edge. I like this edger and it does have decent power, lightweight, and easy to line up once you practice or watch how they use a typical edger videos out there. Here is what I found when using this gas powered edger. 1) Those 2 clips to hold the throttle cable are totally useless. You can't push them onto the handle bar like the instruction says. Just to get the clip onto the handle bar you will have to slide them on via the bend ends of the middle bar and turn it into the full round diameter. What a pain, there is no way you would think by its shape to push on directly. Then you can't even push the throttle cable into it. Its too difficult so I just used simple black cable ties to hold them. 2) The manual is not bad, has details, but it doesn't mention how to replace the belt or the size of belt. There is an exploded diagram that you can guess how to remove and replace the belt. 3) The wheels are okay plastic with thin threads on the tire. Wish it could be a bit more heavy duty tires. 4) Nice push to adjust the height of the blade. I like how easy it was to adjust the height. Nice easy feature. 5) There is no label on the unit that indicates this is the choke, so unless you read the manual or have the manual you will not know to push it in to start the edger. 6) The Air Filter knob is that red knob in the front that looks like it has several settings to turn it to. (See photo). But it only serves the purpose of holding the black cover of the Air Filter. So looks are deceiving. 7) The sticker label on the edger for the primer bulb doesn't say push 10x as per the starting procedures of the manual. So if you don't read the manual or remember it. I put a label that says "Push 10x times to start". I notice at the 5X push the primer bulb fills with gas. 8) No extra curb wheel feature if you are trying to cut the grass line along the curb. The next model up has this feature, but not this smaller machine. 9) the label says shipped without oil, but mine was already full of oil. Also since its a bit recessed in, you should use the oil bottle that came in the box in the future. Also the manual shows to hold the machine vertically to pour out the oil if you are doing an oil change. That is not as easy as the diagram in the instruction manual shows. 10) The gas fill spout is angled and is a bit difficult to add gas with a typical gas can. They should of made the gas spout point vertically up instead. The design seems to follow a grass string trimmer but even with that everyone tilts it to fill with gas. You can't easily tilt this edger to do the same. 11) The pull start cord is not like your lawn mower where its high up close to the handle bar. On this edger the pull start cord is down by the engine, so, you have to pull it from down there. I found it easier to pull if you put one hand on the top of the engine and the other hand to pull the start cord. 12) This gas powered edger is loud, even in idle and louder when you press down on the throttle lever which also makes the edger blade to start to rotate. So I highly recommend you have ear protection on or you will damage your hearing without one. You need to wear ear protection. 13) Overall this gives a much cleaner and deeper cut in edge with an edger than with a typical string trimmer. One drawback is that using a dedicated edger like this, it will kick up more soil due to the cutting blade cutting into the soil, so more to sweep back into the grass area.

Very nice and compact gas powered edger. Neatly packaged in a small box, but all you need to assemble is the four included bolts and hand turn nuts on the outside of the lower arms connecting the unit to the handle. This is a four- cycle engine so no mixing of gas and oil. Also includes a small bottle of engine oil, so you only need to supply your own gasoline. Easy pull start and it is powerful enough to landscape your property with the nine inch blade that is already attached
