Easy to assemble. The HD photo may make you think the wood is a natural color, but the color is quite yellow...which I love. It's comfortable.

The chairs look fabulous sitting on our outside deck. The quality is great; and the natural look will mesh well with the stain we will be applying to the cement. We didn't have any issues at all with assembly. It took no longer than 30 minutes per chair.

OK chair, but difficult assembly
The chair itself is OK, but the assembly is difficult. You will have to remake some holes in the armrest since the alignment is wrong.

A Lot of Work
This chair comes in quite a few pieces that took me about 1.5 hrs and some muscle to put together. I did it with the help of a friend, and while I probably could've finished it alone, balancing heavy pieces while trying to ratchet nuts and bolts in very tight areas would've taken twice as long and a lot more patience than I have. The screw holes don't always line up and I had to drill some new ones with wood drill bits. So don't count on putting this thing together if you don't have the power tools to make your own holes. But all pieces shipped undamaged, so that was good.
Once together, the wood comes rough and unfinished, probably straight from a lumber yard cut. I'm not being sensitive- you wouldn't want to sit on this as-is. I had to sand down the parts I'd be sitting on/ touching often. It was an easy sanding job, the wood is VERY SOFT, so I did just one pass of 400 grit and it was smooth as silk. I ended up painting rather than staining and predictably, the parts I had sanded took the paint really well and the parts left unsanded needed several extra coats.
Altogether this chair is very attractive and comfortable. The extendable ottoman doesn't slide out very smoothly but it works just fine and feels great. Also be aware when you assemble the chair that certain screws will act as hinges for the back to go up and down, so take note of where the chair moves and don't make those screws too tight the first time around.
I say that the chair requires a lot of work because not only do you have to assemble, drill, sand and paint/stain, but also a couple of pre-assembled pieces had come loose within 2 days and I had to put extra screws in to hold them. Also, I once picked the chair up the wrong way (from the back rather than the front) which caused the ottoman to fall straight out and its full weight hit the front bracer board and broke it in half. That's the main problem with the really soft wood. Fortunately it took really well to wood glue and some extra sanding, so I was able to fix it pretty easily and now the chair is usable and comfortable. I'm predicting that the problems occurred because of all the movement it required in those first few days of getting it ready for use. Now that it's finished and will stay in one place on my patio, it feels very solid and stable. No creaks or gives in the seat, so I think I'll be very happy with it from here on. However, if I were to ever purchase another Adirondack chair, it probably wouldn't be this one. I've decided that paying a little bit extra up front is worth more to me than an entire weekend of work to prepare a patio chair.

The chairs were very easy to put together and look very nice. There was one bolt short of in the package but out of convenience I just went to the store and bought a similar one to replace with. Only giving 4 stars as the wood on the chairs is pretty thin and I’m not sure how long they will last before they break.
