AnswersThe Nylon is a little more flexible. It won't crack as easily. Also, they are slightly bigger. They cover more area around the switch. That's useful especially if there are imperfections on the wall around the switch.

AnswersThey are a standard Decora size - 2.63" x 1.31". Leviton has dimensional drawings on some of their product pages. The link below is where these numbers come from, but note, the plate dimensions here are for the standard size plate, not the medium size. And the new Decora rectangular design opening looks great compared to the ancient "stop sign" outlet covers. the problem is that it doesn't level itself with the outlet
or, it doesn't level the outlet with itself
so your plate may be flush against the wall, but one end of the outlet will be raised higher than the other
but that's just a cosmetic flaw

I purchased 4 of these recently to trim out electrical devices in a newly painted room. I was very displeased to find out the plates were molded with a severe curve in them. This was not a shipping issue. The middle bows away from the wall. In case someone thinks tightening the screws more will help, it makes the curve worse since the screws are towards the ends of the electrical device.
