The Vizia 24 hour programmable timer is a very nice intem and is very reliable to. I installed in my outdoor lighting and I am happy with it. I do the installation by myself and I hadn't any problem.

Inexpensive switch timer that automatically computes sunrise and sunset settings finally found the perfect timer. Works perfect arrived promptly and worked perfectly. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is looking a digital timer to work with LED lights. Inexpensive switch timer that automatically computes sunrise and sunset settings. It'll also adjust with Daylight Savings Time. And I want to thank there customer service, had a slight issue with installation and they helped me perfectly, out of a score of 1 to 10 I’ll give them a 20.

I used this timer to turn on/off all my 10 outdoor security lights around the house and garage not only to save electricity ( each security light consumes 3 watts in day time) but mainly to eliminate the feed back/ flashing problem by cover up the brightness sensor of the security light. This device has Astronomical Clock to turn on/off accurately following the sunlight. I stuck a small 1/8" thick pad under the plastic cover, above the down key button to turn on the back light when I press down the plastic cover to check the time, that also to prevent any one to turn on/off the device accidentally ( Open the cover and press the black square button to turn on/off the timer)

Good but would be great if it had support for Z-wave
I purchased this because the builder installed standard light fixtures that was not dawn to dusk but requires manual intervention of using a switch. I like dawn to dusk and am a proponent of keeping a well lit house. I tried the aftermarket socket with built in dawn to dusk eye but that increased the height of the bulb but it still fit inside the fixture. It also looked really weird. One of them only lasted a few weeks so I returned them and went for this programmable timer. I have yet to see this product in stores but can be ordered and delivered to the store at no extra cost. It generally takes about a week. It does have a built in (non-user replaceable) backup battery so that it does not loose its programming in the event of a short power failure. How long the battery lasts and what kind is not known since I did not want to try and dissemble it. This device does require a neutral, so if your wiring confirms to NEC 2011, there should be a neutral in the switch box. The description does not mention this but it is important, so check your switch box before purchasing and remember, safety first! The programmable events it has is overkill but good for those that like to do more than the usual, but I am satisfied with just getting close to dawn to dusk and accounting for the drift. It does have an offset feature, so you can specify the minutes you want it to turn on/off as opposed to what it thinks will be the sunrise/sunset. I ended up purchasing two of these, one for the porch light and one for the garage lights. This product is good, especially if you do not want to spend the cost of replacing the existing fixtures and want to keep the same fixtures but provide automation to it. What would make this product great, is if it supported Z-wave. I would like this product to be able to operate on its own, but it would be nice to be able to monitor, control, or override it with a home automation system. If Leviton decides to incorporate Z-wave, this product needs to be autonomous and not rely upon the home automation system to operate.

Just what I was looking for!
The Leviton VPT24-1P, Lighted Digital Timer Switch is just what I was looking for. I needed a way to turn on a second floor fan even if I was not home. It was easy to install and simple to set up, and the LED back lite screen is easy to see and understand. I would recommend this Timer Switch to anyone who was looking for an easy solution to controlling almost anything. (holiday lighting, ventilation, exhaust fans, attic fans, ceiling fans, bathroom fans, heat lamps, heaters, pool pumps, pool filters, hot tubs).

Works as described
If you have a location that is too far to reach your WiFi network, this is a good alternative. I originally ordered this, but then went the wireless\mobile route for the rest of the house. Rather than return this switch, I used it in one room and it works as designed. Small text, so unless you're young, get out the magnifying glass to program.

no battery backup after 5 years!
if power goes out, after 5 yrs..it loses all settings. I bought 2 units to automatically turn lights on, especially when I was out of town. After 5 yers, the internal battery no longer works and if there is only a brief power outage, all settings are lost. I expect a $40 switch to last more than 5 years!
