It works
The outlet arrived and has clear instructions and is straight forward to install. Keep in mind that these new outlets have a very wide body that takes up virtually all of the space in the box. I installed this outlet in an older part of my home and the wiring is not at flexibly or thin as the standard wiring they use now. Prepare to trim wire and wrestle with everything to make space.
Once the app is downloaded, setup is easy. I remember trying to work on 'smart' technology for my home a few years back and it was not very easy or intuitive. They've come a long way.
It's easy to set schedules, operate the outlet from downstairs or even or virtually anywhere else.

Works perfect and super easy to install and setup!
My wife recently asked if there was a way we could use Alexa to turn our Christmas tree lights off/on. Being the good husband I was able to do a little research which is where I found the Decora Smart Wi-Fi Outlet (2nd Gen). This outlet installs just like any other outlet with the exception of being larger (deeper) than a standard outlet. I did struggle to get all the wires pushed into the back of the single gang outlet box I installed it in but other than that installation was a breeze. This outlet allows whatever is plugged into the top outlet to be programmed via the app or utilized via Alexa, Hey Google, Home Kit, etc… The bottom outlet is “hot” all the time so you can plug anything you want into it like a normal outlet. It’s the best of both worlds this way. My wife is loving the fact that she can turn the Christmas tree lights off/on now via Alexa vs. always hunting for the little remote to turn them off/on. If you are looking for a “smart” outlet I would definitely give this Decora Smart Outlet a try. You will be very happy you did.

Solved my PROBLEM!
What a perfect fit for my application. I currently have two power strips plugged into the existing outlet – one strip powers my entertainment devices (TV, DVR, audio, etc.) and the other strip my security cameras and NVR (network video recorder). The problem is every so often my NVR hiccups and goes offline and the only way to bring it back is to power cycle it which is impossible to do when away from the house. Problem solved with this new WiFi outlet! I just plug in the NVR power strip to the APP controlled outlet and remotely power it off then on – perfect when I am away from the house and need to look at security camera recordings. One outlet is always “on” which is where I plug in the entertainment center and the other outlet is controlled by the APP. There are many other cool features on this new outlet – the button in the center is a manual on/off switch for the controlled outlet, it is compatible with Alexa and Google, scheduling can be done in the app, it works with conditional “if this then this” IFTTT, integrate the outlet to other smart devices in the home, and other functions too numerous to detail here. Very happy with the device and would recommend.

Easy to automate my lights
I wanted to use this to turn on lights on my front porch steps. I had another smart cube in this outlet but it kept losing connection to the WiFi. I live on a ranch in the mountains and it is REALLY dark. The nearest street light is about 10 miles away. It is important to have a light on the steps. This outlet was easy to install just like the standard outlet it replaced. The Leviton app was easy to work with and the outlet connected to my network without a hitch. One thing that I loved on the app is the ability to choose sunrise and sunset as a "time". All my other lights I have to assign a time and then keep changing it with the season.

Easy to setup but Of the two outlet, only one works as smart switch
Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Tamper Resistant 15A Duplex Outlet (2nd Gen) Works with Alexa/Google/HomeKit and Anywhere Companions, White is an easy to setup, easy to use and a decent quality smart outlet you can find.I have owned several smart switches and by far this was one of the easiest to setup.
But i noticed that the bottom outlet in this duplex outlet is always on, doesn't turn off if i turn off from the app. Not sure if that is a bug in this outlet or all the outlets are like this. But that is a disapointment for me.

A great alternative to a plug in timer
I ordered the Leviton Decora Smart Outlet to make it easier to control a lamp remotely. Installation was as easy as any duplex outlet, with individual terminals for hot, neutral and ground wires. This duplex is designed so that the lower outlet is always hot. The upper one can be switched on and off either by using a button on the outlet or by Wifi using the myLeviton app. There is also a green LED that glows when the upper outlet is powered. Installing the myLeviton app on my phone was easy and setup is pretty basic. It gives several options that can be configured, including an 'at home' and 'away' selection. It can be set up when 'away' that it will randomly turn on and off the outlet from dusk until 11:00 pm. It also has the ability to set up schedules using the days of the week, the times desired, and whether the outlet should be on or off. This smart outlet seem very versatile and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to switch power on or off either remotely or by setting up a timer or schedule.

The outlet works but switch mechanism does not function, you can hear the clicking when the app is used, but the power is never cut off, so what’s the point? Dissatisfied for sure. Wasted good time and money on a faulty product.

The Wi-Fi outlet turned out to be better than I thought. I figured I would have to use the Leviton app, however, it works amazing in the Apple Home app. You can turn it on and off, instantly or setup time on, time off. I highly recommend this for outdoor lights/electronic devices or anywhere you need the power to go on or off at specific times.
