A:  I believe these weee designed for kitchen cabinets. They work wonderfully on my cabinets that didn’t have easy close hinges. I’m a bit doubtful they would hande the weight of a freezer door.

A:  While the damper would likely work, since it’s primarily spring activated, it is designed to be mounted to the wooden frame of a kitchen or bath cabinet with surface mounted, light weight doors. I don’t believe it would mount properly to a freezer door frame and likely could not dampen the added weight of such a door. 

A:  It’s a plastic product with a metal spring inside. It should be ok inside a freezer, but what concerns me more is the fact that you’ll have to screw this to the door inside and create a hole in the insulated layer

A:  Try to loosen the screw in the back. It’s helps a bit

A:  You can adjust the closure by twisting the knob at the back of the device. You may need to use a plier to twist the knon

A:  You may need to adjust the Damper using the thumb screw on the back. The door hinges need to self closing and in good working order, a little lubricant or adjustment may help.

A:  Just unscrew and remove them.

A:  These will work with either hinge from my experience

A:  They work independent of the hinge.

A:  I would expect them to work fine with exposed hinges.

A:  These are separate devices that go in the corner of the cabinet opening and catch the door before it slams and gently guides it to close. I would also recommend that you stick on those tiny silicone bumpers on the corners to dampen and sound when they door finally touches the cabinet. They are inexpensive and come in multiple sizes

A:  10 percent of mine failed within two years. I'd say yours are done.

A:  I installed mine 2 years ago and they still work perfectly! They are adjustable..

A:  Seems to be 10 years, mine are in for just 6 and still working. They are not the best quality and the pistons probably wear out eventually.

A:  Wow, 10 years! I think you got everything out of them that you should have gotten. Be happy they lasted this long. Just go get yourself another set. They are cheap per piece.

A:  Hi Steve! Realistically a ten year service life for these Soft Close Cabinet Door Dampers is a good value. If I get ten years out of those I have installed at home I will be surprised and happy. An amazingly good value for the investment. BTW have you tried adjusting the screw on the back of each damper? I have seen them back out a little a compromise the damping effect. Give it a check.

A:  same. I installed cabinets in 2012 and I've replaced the hardware twice on the cabinets I use most. this product is kind of a joke.
