I love this flooring - it is beautiful - had a lot of rooms installed with this. but, it seems a little dull - no shine at all. I did clean it w/ph neutral cleaner but was wondering is there any product I could use to give it a little shine. thank you

Thanks for your question. You can use Allure Single Step in either the satin or gloss finish. You can/will need to reapply this every few months or as necessary depending on foot traffic and cleaning. Please see the link below: https://www.homedepot.com/s/allure%2520single%2520step?NCNI-5

I am looking to install this floor in a mobile home in which the sub-floor has some imperfections. Does this floor have enough flexibility to account for a floor that is not perfectly level and has small ledges?
Asked by: MSII
Thanks for your question. As long as the subfloor does not have dips or rises more than 1/4'', it should be ok. If there are any areas over 1/4'', or any areas that concern you, you can use a cement based leveling compound to even it out. It's always better to be safe than sorry because the flooring is only going to be as smooth and even as the subfloor.

I had asked this before and received no answer, Can I use Once and Done by Armstrong on this Lifeproof LPF for a cleaning method. I know it had ZEP general cleaner but I noticed Once and Done cane be used on Vinyl
Asked by: MaggiesDaddy
I love Once and Done and use it on all my floors EXCEPT the Essential Oak. The instructions on the box suggest using water and damp mopping. I use the Swifer wet just to remove any spots. I am afraid that using a cleaner like Once and Done may leave a slight residue over time and dull the finish. I have no scientific proof for this, but that is how I treat my floors.

I only just installed this over the last two days, so this review is about the installation rather than living with it. Very nice product to work with and looks better than I thought a vinyl floor would when complete. Much nicer than cold concrete under foot. A few things I learned: While you CAN cut it with a utility knife, avoid doing so if possible, especially when cutting lengthwise. Scoring it deeply enough to snap it off is not as easy as it looks in the video. That wear surface is tough! However, this stuff cuts beautifully with a fine saw blade. I used a jigsaw for a few tricky cuts around some door jams involving multiple corners and a table saw for everything else (with a trim blade). It cuts cleaner than most hardwoods. You will occasionally have a joint along the long side which will not quite close up tight, usually in the center of the seam. It will look like one of the two planks is not quite square. Don't believe it. Pull the plank you are trying to install back out and look at the tongue on the plank you are installing against. There is probably a bit of residual dust/waste from when the tongue was cut stuck in the groove. Clean it out with that utility knife you got for cutting the planks and try again. I had this happen about 12 times out of 19+ boxes. Every one of them then installed properly. Final word: I like it well enough that I intend to do the other half of the basement soon, even though it's only partially finished.

If you have a miter saw its a breeze but a box cutter can also be used to get the cuts needed. This is resilient and made to last. The under layment pre-attached makes it so easy to install and don't need to mess around with layment cutting or more products to purchase. We are ordering more in different colors for other rooms in the house now, because the product is that good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great This is the first time I've done anything like this. Planks go together fairly well in level areas. A little harder over subfloor imperfections. I wasn't able to score and break planks. I ended up borrowing a table saw for straight cuts and bought a jigsaw for more complicated cuts such as around air vents. Cutting planks lengthwise with jigsaw a pain but it worked. Completed bedroom and hall and working on living room now. Pets tracked white paint over flooring and it wiped up easily. Spilled some water which beaded up. So seems like it will function as intended.

I have installed several laminate and luxury vinyl plank floors and this product stands out as the best that I have encountered so far. For this kitchen job I purchased another product that looked very nice but it was not nearly as well constructed and the material used for the joints came broken in many places and easily cracked and jammed when installing . . . especially if you have to remove and reinstall such as when water gets under it . . . which indeed happened. I ended up returning that product to a different supplier and purchased LifeProof planks at my local Home Depot. The difference was like night and day. It went together easily, had a good video with instructions and none of the joints were damaged before and during the install process. I installed using a saw but they say a knife can be used as well . . . that would take more elbow grease but it would make less of a mess with vinyl shavings. I would highly recommend this new product for DIYers . . . it will save a bunch of money and looks great.

After researching and shopping for different variations of inexpensive LVT, my husband and I decided on LifeProof Shadow Hickory. We installed 550 sq ft in a mobile home we are renovating for our parents. Installation took 2 days (after a full day of floor prep). We are very happy with how easy this floor was to install and how it looks. It is also comfortable to walk on. The planks lock easier than the core tech lvt we installed in our home. Definitely use a table saw to make cuts, the planks are too thick for scoring. So far the product meets our expectations.

The flange material on the short ends is brittle and seems to break off with the anything other than the slightest tapping together. I even bought the hammer they sell specifically for this product. Time will tell how it holds up ,but it does look great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks like real wood! It's nice looking. A friend asked how I was going to seal it for protection in the bathroom! Pretty easy to install, but plan ahead as you need to lift it on one side to connect it to the previous pieces so don't do the part that has to go under the door jams last. Also it doesn't say how to cut it around curves, say the toilet. I ended up with very little wasted product but it is easy to cut it wrong and render it unusable. It's only been a couple weeks so I'm m not sure how it will be long term but so far it's beautiful.

Replacing the carpeting in a small bedroom and closet (150 sq. ft.) last week was my first encounter with this type of flooring and the results exceeded my expectations. Day 1 was removing the carpeting, padding with all of the staples and molding. Day 2 most of the vinyl planks were easily installed using a jig saw but a table saw was used for long cuts. Day 3 finished the flooring and installed new molding. At 70 I just can't stay on my knees for too long at a time but this flooring really does install easily following the instructions and watching the Home Depot tape. All of the planks were in perfect condition and I had very little waste. My wife loves the look of the floor and only time will tell how it holds up but I'm optimistic!
