This strip makes a nice transition from ceramic floor tile to hardwood floor. I removed the carpet from the adjoining room so there was a gap between the two floor levels that was a trip hazard. I cut a strip with scissors and a utility knife to fit the door threshold tightly. It makes it a smooth transition. I am using this temporarily until I replace the carpet but I think that if it could be painted that it could be a permanent transition that could be glued down. It has a 1/4” notch about in the middle that butts up to the upper floor surface so that it stays put.

I ordered this LIFETILES 2 1/4 IN. X 9 FT. RUBBER FLOORING TRANSITION STRIP to take care of a problem in our hallway. We took out the carpet & pad that was covering an oak floor, but then we were left with a lip up to the slate floor in the foyer creating a trip hazard. This product worked nicely to bridge that hight gap and cure the toe smashing problem. It's rubber so it smells like a new tire, which I assume will have less of a smell over time. I was able to cut it with sharp scissors, but if you need a real straight cut you might want to use a square and a utility knife. I will also be using this product to cover up a hight transition from the oak floor to a newer addition where there is a sliding glass door into the new room. There is 9' of the transition strip and it's about 3/8" thick in the middle and has a groove that will work well with click lock wood flooring. There were no instructions in the box, it would be helpful if the company included them, stating the best way to hold this product down.

I had stone tiles installed in my kitchen then some time later bought a new dishwasher. Because of the new front design, it left a gap between the bottom of the dishwasher and the stone tile edge. Very unsightly. I didn’t know what to try until I found this J&J Industries rubber flooring transition strip. Surprisingly easy to cut with regular scissors. I simply cut then placed between dishwasher and floor. Perfect. Now I need to go around the home and find other uses for this versatile rubber strip. Comes rolled up. High quality rubber.

The J&J Industries Rubber Flooring Transition Strip is 2 1/4 inches wide and is in a roll 9 feet long. This is a black commercial grade strip that can be cut to length to fit your doorway or wherever you need a transition strip. You typically use this product where you have installed laminated flooring and it ends up higher than the adjacent flooring. The flooring is laid down first, then the strip is glued down and slid under the last strip inserting the laminate into the slot provided. The slot is 5/16 inch thick allowing for the laminate to be slid into it to make a neat finish. One application that I intend on using it for is installing a laminate floor in a basement hallway and using this transition strip at the doorway going into the laundry room that has vinyl tile. The two floors will be slightly different heights so this strip will work perfectly. The flexible rubber strip can be easily cut using a knife or scissors.

I would recommend this product for berber carpet or anything less thick to go with. I haven’t had the time to redo our entryway yet but I did add some pictures of what I plan on doing with it. Now in my opinion I feel that whatever you do decide on transitioning together it would be wise to use glue to adhere at least one side. It feels very durable and made to last and when I do find the time to get it done, It should be more than adequate

This is a versatile transition strip that I could imagine working in a range of different situations. I was surprised to see that it's real rubber, a rarity these days and I imagine easier to adhere to a floor than silicone based materials. It's rated for indoor use only, but I expect it would do fine outdoors if not exposed to a lot of direct sun.
The profile is efficient with minimal rise (and trip hazard) over the nested tile thickness (see pic). The bottom is perfectly flat and smooth and should marry to floor surfaces well. They mention a double sided tape, but I used my standard latex floor tile adhesive and it worked like a charm.
If you can deal with the color limitation, this is a far better alternative to traditional aluminum based transition strips.

This is a VERY flexible transition strip for carpet and other types of flooring.
It's long enough to do three standard entry or doorways.
I like that it lays flat right out of the box, it does not curl up or get stiff.
It's about 2 inches wide and a 1/4" thick with a groove to fit the flooring into the bottom and hold tight.
I'd attach this with double sided adhesive or flooring glue for a tight leak free bond (no water can get under it then).
This is rubber so it won't tear easily and isn't slippery when wet due to small grip lines on it.
I'd recommend it.
