Questions & Answers

when delivered curbside can one person handle unloading it?,,how much do the boxes weight?

Asked by: mike
I used my lawn tractor and flat trailer and loaded each box, one by one, on the trailer and drove then arond to the back yard. Boxes are heavy but I was able to get one end of the box on the trailer and then maneuver it up on the trailer.

could this be used as a poolside cabana? Changing space and pool toys, furniture storage?
Asked by: sungirl18
Yes, you could for sure use this to store those kind of items inside. The inside of the shed is just one large open area so if you wanted to use it might be difficult to use as a changing station.

Can one person install the shed?

Asked by: paul
Home Depot does not have any service that will come out and install it for you. You will have to just do the best you can by yourself and with some other help. It can be done in one day if you have two others helping and if you start early enough.

15 ft. x 8 ft. Outdoor Garden Shed is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 395.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful shed, quite a work to get it installed About 26 hours spent. I spent one whole day building the floor. The floor was built on PT 4X4 frames every 46 inches and PT 2X4 in between every 4X4, the frame was raised on top of 10X16 cement blocks($1.44 each). About 26 cement blocks were used on all joints. The toal cost of material came out to be like $360. PT plywood for floor was the most expensive item. $41 each panel. The shed looks beautiful, here are my observations. Be careful on the manual you are going to follow. The manual which comes with the shed should be followed. The online manual have more wordings but part #s are different and so are couple of steps. The floor should be layed out carefully, otherwise once you put the right size wall close to door or left side wall close to door will cover the door bushing hole. The wall corner panels gave me hard time too. The instructional manual needs lots of work, May be the manufacturer should create install dvd . By and large beautiful shed and I hope it lasts for ever

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aesthetically Close to Perfect! I spent a total of 19 hours (7 hours on the wood base; 12 hours on the storage shed) work hours on building the storage shed by myself with my 11 year old giving me some assistance. I built my shed on a wooden base and decided to keep it 12 inches from the ground. Building the roof was the most challenging part in my opinion. I ended up spending a total cost of $1400 (shed), $200 (additional Lifetime shelving and corner shelves), and $450 on pressure treated lumber for my base= $2050.00. I also covered the bottom perimeter of my base to make sure that it is protected from rodents etc and also built a ramp. With the shed complete, I store my snow blower, lawn mower, generator, a ping pong table (folded), power tools, and my work table on the other end with lots more space left! No regrets of making this investment! Now my garage has cleared up and this shed is a great addition to my backyard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We liked the look of this shed and felt it would add value to our property. Reading the reviews on this shed prior to buying ours we had a level concrete pad installed allowing a 12" overhang all the way around the shed. Three days later our shed arrived via curbside delivery service. Three of us assembled the shed in 8 hours. The floor and wall panels were quite easily installed although the 2 panels that the doors must be installed on should be better marked or explained. The roof was the challenge. All the wall and floor parts fit so well and after installing the metal roof parts and the first few roof panels things began not to line up. None of us could figure out how this was possible on a level pad following all of the instructions. After much manuvering, we finally were able to finish the roof although none of us was 100% happy with the results. We all felt that a tutorial installation CD would be a big help to future buyers of these sheds. The screws provided, packaged as they were were also confusing. Could be done better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for the price Overall I give this a 4 - the shed takes a full day to assemble assuming you already have a level foundation to start from. It can be accomplished with 1 person - but recomend 2. The floor is somewhat thin so a PT plywood base or equiv would give it more solidity. Once complete you have a waterproof realitively bug free - rot free (maint free) shed. Couple of thoughts - I have added some wooden framing to support extras like hooks and shelves - this would be easier with a wooden shed since you can modify to your needs much easier. This says skylights, and while there are tinted panels in the peak, the afford minimal light. Once fully assembled the structure is very sturdy, I have had mine in service for 1 year, and it shows no signs of wear other than the roof sags between the supports slightly. The double doors could use a better catch on the top/bottom which can be difficult to engage/disengage. It's hard to argue with 8x15 maint free for this price. BTW the boxes are heavy when this arrives be prepared to unpack them if you want to move them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice building I had thought about building a storage shed from scratch, but after Home Depot ran a special on this shed, I went for it. It's a good looking shed that I put together in one day with intermittent help from one other person. I'm fairly handy, and could almost put this together alone. You just need help with a few steps here and there. I also used my electric drill to speed up assembly despite the instructions saying not to. Just use common sense and turn the clutch way down so you down strip the plastic out with the metal screws, which you could very easily do. My only complaint about this shed is that Home Depot lists the actual dimensions as 8 feet by 178 inches, so that's what I built my wood frame to while this was being shipped to me. It gets to me, and it's actually 93 1/2 by 178, so I now have to run flashing around the building to keep water out from under it. it needs these actual dimensions on the description. otherwise great shed, especially for $1500 out the door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Great even if you're building it by yourself! So the instructions recommend building the shed with a small handful of people (2-3 actually) but I built the entire thing myself over two days (10 hours total). There are a number of things I'd change in the instructions if you're working by yourself... Build the trusses inside and before you decide to start the shed build. Pick a day that isn't windy. Putting the gables together by yourself in the wind means the three person instruction might be more useful than you think. (I waited till the wind died down and had no issues. Label your parts with a sharpie. Way too many of the instructions call for three letter parts that are arbitrarily labeled in a system that makes no sense. ADK, #amIright Otherwise the shed itself is holding up nicely and works very well. My doors weren't perfectly aligned, even after shimming but after a day, they seem to have settled into place and work magically.

Let's start of by talking about the instructions which I have to say is pathetic at best. The material seems a little flimsy until the shed comes together at about 80% them gets much stronger to the point of pretty sterdy. 1. would advise one person only to read instructions and others take direction from the holder of the instructions 2. Everyone watch the YouTube video on how to build. 3. Make sure your pad you are building is perfectly flat because the shed is not forgiving. 4. Once you figure out how long to assemble, multiply by a factor of two or three. First day, we had 5 help and second day only 2 of us. Took 17 hours in total. Overall a nice heavy shed and love the space. Pretty nice looking also. 5 stars would be for better instructions and less time to build.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent shed. Purchased this shed last summer, but took a while to build my cement base, so didn’t get it up til October. It was a bit more work to put up than some of the reviews, but all went together fairly well. Only reason it is not 5 stars is I had a problem with screws not holding the roof panels tight and falling out. I had some snow sneak through in a couple of spots! I contacted customer service though and they are shipping out some oversized screws which should hold panels better! No questions on their side, just stated they would ship me the parts right away. Cudos to their customer service dept! Shed is quite solid, and looks good in the back corner of the yard. It has loads of room for lawn and snow equipment and other assorted outdoor tools!
