Questions & Answers

I've been looking for some kind of work bench that doesn't take up too much space in our apartmen...

Asked by WoodysWorkshop October 8, 2020

No, I doubt you will keep the sound from the wall since it's mounted rigidly to it....especially if you pounding away with a 2 pound hammer.......

Can this be installed/mounted to a concrete wall?

Asked by Greg October 2, 2020

Yes, but you have to do it right. I would secure a board to the concrete wall and then secure the unit onto the wall. The lag screws that come with it are I believe about 3 inches long so you might have to predrill holes depending on the thickness of the board you are using on the cement wall. That would allow your lag screws to partially go into the concrete to help support the workbench.

Is the length of each leg adjustable?

Asked by IG August 16, 2020

Yes...each leg will adjust

Is the wood table surface able to be sanded and refinished with a stain?

Asked by Brenda July 7, 2020

It is made of wood so I’m sure you can sand and stain it.

The specs say “pre-assembled”. Can you confirm that this comes pre-assembled so i don't have to put it together.

Asked by sgott1097 April 25, 2020

I had to put mine together. Assembly was pretty easy and took about 2-hours.... and I took my time.

Does this come fully assembled?

Asked by DB00911 April 11, 2020

Partially assembled But you really need to read the directions before hand it is not that intuitive. The direction are pretty good and some of the step don't make sense until the final assembly. It went together great following the directions

Does this include hooks for the pegboard? If not what size is needed?

Asked by Laurie April 2, 2020

Yes, mine came with hooks.

What are the dimensions of the shipping box. I need this to determine if I can fit it into my car...

Asked by Dean March 22, 2020

The box I received is roughly 28.5" x 50".

Could you put 2 side by side and have the table be flush?

Asked by El February 7, 2019

Depending on the availability of studs for support, I believe this is possible because the side of the table is flush with the side of the mounting frame. A very small gap might exist but would probably be negligible.

when the table is stored/folded what is the thickness from the wall?

Asked by mike January 22, 2019

You would be safe at 11”. The legs flex outward a bit from spring tension when folded. Otherwise, about 10”.

Great Quality!
Heavy gauge steel. Not at all flimsy; I like that while I have a main bench in the garage this one is out of the way. Tucked into a corner where I can sit and brood, The wood on the bench is pretty thin I took a chunk out of it dragging an alrenators over it. Other than that, five stars. More expensive than the Husky or Stanley but 4 times the bench.

This workbench is just what I needed. Our new townhouse has a small garage and we couldn't have a regular, permanent workbench. This unit easily folds up out of the way and only extends from the wall about 11" when folded. It has a good sized wooden work space and lots of storage ability with a pegboard that can handle my most commonly needed tools. Well built of sturdy materials. Quite heavy in the shipping box, so plan to have someone help you with it. Definitely a great product!

Perfect for our one-car garage! I was able to utilize space in front of a storage room door I could not have without it. Assembly-A lot of parts, but if you follow the instructions it is pretty easy to put together and hang. It's heavy duty and sturdy. It was a big part of getting the garage organized so we can finally get the car in it. Allowing me to utilize this space I can actually use my workbench without having to back the car out. And-The price is right!

Lifetime Work Bench
This product works great in our garage for little small projects. My husband and I are both 5 feet 8 inches and the adjustable height choices worked well when we mounted it to our wall. Our garage studs were on 24” centers, not the standard 16” centers, so we had to mount a 1 x 4 to the wall to be able to mount the table to the wall securely. It folds up nicely and doesn’t get in the way of parking my Camaro in the garage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This folding work bench is perfect for my garage which is at capacity with two cars, three kayaks, two paddle boards and tons of other stuff. I have always wanted a large work bench but space has been the limiting factor. This workbench solves that problem by giving me the large work table and lots of storage without taking up too much precious garage space. Installation was pretty painless and the install videos were very helpful. One issue with the install instructions was I wished they had a list/table or calculation to show how high to mount the bracket the unit hangs from to get a specific table height. There were just two example heights provided in the instructions so I had to do some math and guessing to get the height to match an existing work bench. After it was installed, I began putting tools on the pegboard and was really impressed by the amount of space available for tools. It comes with 30 pieces of various pegboard hardware to get you started but depending on what you are hanging up you will probably need more. I bought two assorted 1/4" hardware kits from different stores and found that both kits had some hardware that was too long for the interior peg board. Hardware that sticks out more than 7" won't allow the table to close. The pegboard holes are 1/4" but most 1/8" hardware will work on this board with the exception of a few pieces I had from another board that were too loose and would fall out. I especially like that the sides of the unit have pegboard holes so you can use them inside or outside of the unit. The sides work good for mounting tools you use frequently and may need quick access to when the unit is closed. Folding the unit is really simple and it has springs that assist the opening and closing of the unit. Once closed the unit has a latch at the top that keeps the unit closed. I am a little concerned about the latch getting bumped and accidentally opening. To prevent this from happening I have a D-ring carabiner that I slip through the latch lock hole to ensure it stays closed. Also, as a bonus there is even room to fit one of my kayaks underneath the unit which is pretty awesome. You can easily fit several tool boxes underneath the work bench and still open and close the unit without any problems. Additionally, there is room to put a tool box or other items on the top of the unit for even more storage. Overall, I am really impressed with this work bench which has added a significant amount of workspace in my garage without taking up valuable storage space. In fact, now that I have moved a lot of my tools into the unit I feel like it has freed up some storage space for me to collect even more stuff...here we go again!

Tons of storage, great function!
My husband and I were so excited to receive this work table/tool box! I was excited because we have tools laying all over the place and now we would have somewhere to put them. And he was thrilled to finally have a work table! We set it up in about an hour with no issues. Everything was packed really well and we found the instructions very clear and simple. Everything was included that we needed to set it up. Then came the fun part, moving everything in! We were amazed as we put the tools in with just how much really fit in there! It is much more spacious than we realized and taking into account that you can hang things on the sides, use magnets, and use the top and inside for additional shelf space is awesome. And even with holding so much, it really is compact when folded. It came with a large variety of hooks and we had plenty for what we needed. The wood is a thick, sturdy piece of wood that also looks really great. The table moves up and down really easily and the spring keeps the table from falling down on its own. We are doing a lot of home projects right now and have already had a lot of use from our work table, and love it! We've recommended the product to family and friends and will continue to do so. My brother is currently building a home and is planning to buy one of these for himself after seeing ours! Very happy with this product!

Great space saver in the Garage
Product was shipped to our home. Looked like the shipper had dropped it on one corner. The parts are well wrapped and stored in protective Styrofoam, but we had a couple bent pieces (see pics). My husband was able to straighten them out with a little effort, being careful not to break a weld. The metal is well coated and sturdy. The instruction booklet has QR codes that can take you to Lifetime's video instructions if you get stuck in a part of the manual. Took a couple hours to put together on one day and then two more hours another day to get it mounted, leveled, and finished. My husband is 6'2" and loved that it had up to an 8 inch variation to mount so he could have it higher than the standard 36" counter height. We set it to 66.5" on the wall for the top mount = approx 41" bench height. This saves him from having to hunch over when he's tinkering. Love that it folds up so there's no lost space for parking cars. It hangs high enough we can store our Lifetime folding chairs and a couple of folding sawhorses underneath. The springs help keep it from falling and slamming open. Latch is sturdy, We've used a small combination lock so it keeps it fastened and we can protect our tools inside. Lots of storage space in the compartment, with the hooks, for drills, hammers, tools, clamps, etc. Also has good room on top to store additional tools. We plan on installing a light bar. He's trying to convince me that he needs a second unit, to go in the basement, where he can tie flies and prep his hunting gear! Overall, 5 Star rating. Product exceeds expectations and quality for at least $100 cheaper than other compact benches I've looked at on Amazon. I've already recommended it to friends and family. Even if we had been unable to fix one of the bent pieces, Lifetime has great customer service and undoubtedly would have shipped a replacement part.

Exactly what I needed!
This is a very solid and well built folding work table. It feels really heavy duty and made of quality materials and should last a lifetime in the DIYer's garage or workshop. To be honest it may also be suitable for a Pro. The instructions and youtube videos recommend installation by two adults and suggest an assembly time of 2 hours, but I was able to put it all together by myself and it took about 4 hours (across 2 days). During assembly there were a couple of frustrating moments where I couldn't exactly get the frame to fit perfectly such as lining up holes etc, but after taking a deep breath and concentrating on the task at hand things went just fine. The instructions are okay but I thought they should've included larger diagrams. The provided hardware is excellent and well labeled. Main assembly steps: - First you assemble the frame on the floor (see pic #3) using bolts and nuts. During all steps you should only hand tighten so that you continue to have flexibility to complete the installation. After completely assembling the frame you need to go over all the bolts and nuts to tighten them. - Then you mount the bracket on the wall (need two or three studs) just like you would mount a flat TV bracket. The provided lag screws are great and will hold this table up with no issue. You need to make sure the bracket is level. - Then you lift the assembled frame and hang it from the bracket just like you would hang a flat TV. - Then finish off by installing the table top, springs, leg extensions, etc. You can choose the table height you need from approx 35 inches to 42 inches, and I went with 37 inches. The adjustable legs also allow you to compensate for uneven floors and still get the table level. When closed, this table projects approx 10.5 inches from the wall so it's not exactly slim profile. A heavy duty latch keeps the table in the closed position. I found that engaging the latch to lock the table in the closed position requires a little more effort than I thought it would. Also when closed, the tools in the peg board are nicely covered/hidden, so I'm planning on removing some tools from my other wall panels to store them in this table. A good number of hooks were included. It takes 5 seconds to open this table and enjoy a surprisingly solid and sturdy work bench. You can easily access the tools from the included peg board. I was able to get it nice & level. It looks very neat in my garage. I don't give 5 stars unless a product exceeds my expectations, and this work table does!
