Asked by Bob May 5, 2021

Yes, you should be okay. The footprint of the shed is a bit smaller than 8 x 12.

Will this product withstand the Arizona summer heat that can be 115F for weeks on end?

Asked by viking34 March 30, 2021

Our sheds are used all over the country, including Southern Arizona with very few heat related issues. So, you should be fine. If for some reason, you do have an issue ,our Customer Service Department would be happy to help get it resolved for you.

How much for silvery and to put it together?

Asked by Shed March 24, 2021

When I bought my sheds, there was no delivery fee assessed. Professional assembly availability may vary among HD locations. Currently, I see that the product is out-of-stock. Much of that is the result of COVID lockdowns that adversely affected the supply chain. When the product is available, consider assembling the shed yourself. I'm not a pro-anything and yet, was able to assemble the shed in about 2 hours using just a screwdriver and one grandson. The instructions are well-written and you can find how-to videos on HD's website as well as YouTube. When the product shows up as available, the product page will reveal if assembly is available in your area and the added cost, as well as shipping charges (if any). I hope the product is available soon as I could use another shed myself.

I would like to paint the shed to match our exterior house. Can this shed be painted? If so, what...

Asked by Diana February 25, 2021

Our sheds are made to maintenance free and no painting is required. If you do choose to paint your shed you will want to make sure you use a paint that will adhere to the plastic. A primer may be required. Check with your local paint store for appropriate products. Be aware that painting your shed may void your warranty.

When the shed is delivered will it be unloaded for me or will I need help?

Asked by Walter February 9, 2021

Your shipping cost includes curb-side delivery. This typically means the shipping company will unload the shed in front of your home, or in your driveway. You will want to have help moving the boxes as they are very heavy.

How often does this 8x12.5 become available online?

Asked by Stephllama February 2, 2021

I can't say for sure but am wondering if you would be better off contacting Home Depot customer service or the company that makes these sheds. I have one and just love it.

How is this delivered and is it set in place? Is there any assembling required?

Asked by elmerj1922 January 19, 2021

It comes in two large boxes and needs to be assembled. This shed requires you to already have a foundation of wood or concrete prior to assembly. It took two people about 6 hours to assemble

Can the window pannels be installed on either side of shed

Asked by JB October 25, 2020

The windows panel can be placed on either side.

What is the size of the package it comes? What are the dimensions of the package?

Asked by Chevy October 23, 2020

It comes on two pallets. So when they deliver it you better be ready to wete you want it. Get a dolly from someone because you will need it to move the boxes on the pallet. The hight of the wall is the same as the boxes.

Installation of the 6402 storage shed.
Great shed, perfect size and height to store typical homeowners everyday storage and lawn items. Fairly easy to assemble with one novice 65+ person. Just needed assistance for the corner walls with help from a can of silicone spray. Just follow assy directions and as far as Door alignments as suggested from previous owners, placing block in the back of the shed and a shim underneath the door bushing worked. Doors close and lock perfectly. I placed both windows on one side based on location for optimal lighting and the skylights just added that additional light. Added the snow load kit as I live in the northeast. Purchased before assy so I was able to include the short truss brace through the threaded rod during assy w/o securing it with self tapping screws until final installation of the whole kit. This avoided having to undo the top cap nut. As far as the snow load assy,pre-drilling before actually inserting the self tapping screws made the Job a lot easier. Very happy with the outcome and waterproof tested with additional rain storms with out additional sealing of the various joints. Shed highly recommended, very good quality.

Very Pleased!
My father in law actually bought this building and then decided not to put it up. So I bought it from him because we live in an older house with very little storage. I finished putting the building up earlier this week, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I waited until today to review it because we have heavy rain coming through our area and I wanted to see if it leaked. It does not leak, not a single drop of water inside this thing and we've had a ton of rain today. I went with the wooden base because we don't plan on leaving the building where it is, we have a tree that needs to come down and then we'll move the building to another part of our property. All of the instructions on how to build the base were critical to how this turned out, so make sure you follow them. The base needs to be level, and make sure to drill the drain holes too. The only complaint I have is that the instructions seemed to be less specific as you progressed through the process. At the beginning, there were very helpful videos that you could get from a QR code in the book, but those were only at the beginning of the instructions. Other than that, I would recommend this building. Great value for the price.

Great (And Strong) Storage Shed
Exactly as described and marketed. Good value, efficient design, and sturdy. My only difficulty in assembly came in the step that required folding the corner panels in order to make a clean, weathertight corner. The tolerances were a little unforgiving, and it required three people to do that part of the assembly. However, the shed did go together correctly, and it's as sturdy and weather-tight as it is nice looking. In reading some reviews online, it seems that most reviews that were critical of this shed were from people who did not provide either a poured slab, nor a sturdy deck under the shed, resulting in an uneven surface, and subjecting the shed to undue structural stress. We build a robust, level, properly sized deck under the shed, following (and exceeding) the manufacturer's instructions in the assembly manual, and the shed is rock solid. I can't see any scenario where it would not hold up well for decades, barring a direct meteorite strike to the shed.

CAN be assembled alone
I am writing this review to provide some Guidance to any DIYers. while the instructions recommend 2-3adults for assembly, I was able to do this alone with the use of some clamps when assembling the roof panels. I constructed a wood foundation using deck blocks and gravel. The deck blocks on left side couldnt be placed on edge because of french drain tile under ground- so I improvised with some cantilever. This is mainly a kids-toys and bbq accessory storage space so I wasnt overly concerned about weight loads. Not perfectly level but very close - and it all came together without any shimms. We will see how it holds up as it faces the test of time and winters. Instructions and assembly is easy to follow especially with some video tutorial along the way. Overall, happy with the purchase so far.

One of the floor pieces was a little short but we called lifetime and they sent us a new one. It took longer than normal because of covid 19. We finally recieved the part and put it together. It's a nice shed! We are really happy with it! I like the windows and the sky lights!

Good Decision
I made a wooden base, and everything went smoothly. I didn’t have to adjust the doors or shim anything. The only issue is putting the walls up on a windy day. My wife and I got the whole thing together in about 4 hours, but it would have been less if we didn’t spend so much time holding things in place when wind gusts came. I also already had everything unboxed and ready the day before we put it up, which helped us get done faster the next day. Just make sure your base is level and square. Only complaint, but not worth losing a star, is that I didn’t find out it didn’t come with the anchoring hardware until the end, and that you have to order it separately. I get that you’d use different hardware for a cement or wood base, but that should be asked in the ordering process, so the hardware comes with the kit. All in all, we’re extremely happy. We use it mainly to get our three kids’ bikes and scooters out of the garage, along with some other things. I love having my garage back. I love that I didn’t have to paint anything too. It looks very nice and we’re very happy. You will most likely need to build a ramp if you do a wooden base on posts due to being in a frontline climate with ground that’s not level. But, you should have plenty of plywood leftover from your foundation and just need a couple 2 x 4s.
