Answer This Question
A:Â I have no idea. I use them to start my woodstove. The ingredients says: pitch wood, pine scent and food-grade wax. Since the combustible is food grade, I'd think it would be fine to use for a pizza oven. I would check with the directions you got with you pizza oven, first. Make sure you follow the manufacturer's directions, since any warrantee you have on the oven will no longer be valid if you do something contrary to their instructions.

A:Â They are made of wood chips. Not sure of the bonding agent that holds it together. The wood chip are small, but when look at the item all you see is the chips. The size is about the size of a golf ball cut in half. They work great. Recommend them.

A:Â Looks like wax and sawdust/wood chips
by|Nov 10, 2018
A:Â I believe it is made from compressed sawdust. I have used them for many years and wouldn't know how to start a fire without them. They burn for at least 15 minutes and will always get to fire in my wood stove going very well.

A:Â Made from sawdust and wax
by|Nov 10, 2018
A:Â These are basically sawed wood remnants with some sort of wax or paraffin compressed into half golf ball sized pieces. They seem to work fairly well but if you have a window
I would keep them in the middle of your fire box as they will turn your window black if placed too close. Not a big deal as it cleans off the window easily but who want a blackened
window. I also spread a mound of my shredded paper docs in there and place this on top and start it with a propane or map gas torch as you will burn your fingers is you use a Bic
lighter. This works the best for my insert..

A:Â We don't have a wood stove...just a standard fireplace insert. But 99% of the time we use only one firestarter nugget and 3-4 thin pieces of kindling. Depending on how dry your wood is, you may be able to get buy with just one firestarter and no kindling.

A:Â Customer reviews indicate that most people use 2 in a wood burning stove.

I have used this product for many years because it is so easy and inexpensive to use. The fires starter nuggets light every time. You do need a flat surface when using a fire grate. I use old 2x4 pieces of wood which not only provides the flat surface, but is also the kindling. I burn only oak. The fire nuggets last a long time, perhaps 15 minutes which is more than ample to get the oak on fire. Please refer to the photo to show how I use this product. The fire starter nuggets more than meet my expectation.

We buy a box of these every winter. We use them to start the fire in our antique wood cook stove. What used to be an art form of creatively layering shredded newspaper and kindling has become a light and forget it process. The hardest part used to be finding this item locally and having to resort to paying shipping and waiting 1-2 weeks. Order online and ship to store they were available in three days with free shipping!
These "nuggets" are a half round shape; think tea cup. You place them round side down. If you don't they won't work well at all but used correctly these will get split firewood going first time every time. You'll probably want a long reach lighter.

Great firestarter
I use two of these to start the fire in my chimenea & they work great. Less mess than using newspaper. Along with the bundled wood from Home Depot, I highly recommend this product. Good value & they work every time.

Completely innefective
We decided to purchase these to use in our indoor fireplace. We usually use fire starting bricks but there was a shortage last Fall and these were the only thing available. These do not work well at all. I sometimes will throw 6 or 7 of them in the fireplace and they only last about 10 minutes and doesn't produce a lot of flame. Our wood is very dry (all is 20% moisture or below) so it is definitely not the fault of anything we are doing. I would not recommend this product or purchase it again.
