    Q:Is this product stainless steel, or chrome? The package says only "Chrome" and it shines like chrome, does not look like stainless. My use for this will be in a chlorine/detergent situation; ordinary steel will corrode, plated or not.

          The 2 holes' diameter is too small for a shower valve socket wrench to fit through, which means that after installing the plate you would have to rip it out (most likely wrecking it) if you ever needed to change faucet washers, etc. There are plates on the market that have large enough holes. So I returned this and bought a plate made by Westbrass.

          I would have given it an excellent if it was a flat piece of stainless steel. The outside edge has a little lip all the way around it. That makes it a little hard to get it to seal up and not let water get behind it. We have a house built in the 1950s. The shower downstairs is metal. The handles for the shower were on 6 inch centers, not 8 like they are now. Getting parts is next to impossible! Had to replace the whole thing. It now looks like it came with the shower! Thank You for saving me from installing a new stand up shower stall!
