Best to use it, but if you only need a certain amount you can try this: clean out the tip about an inch, then pack it with wax or heavy grease This is to create a seal, then store for next use after squeezing out the seal. Usually works, but not forever...........alf

Clean both surfaces with acetone or lacquer thinner. Apply a bead all the way around the circumference of the metal sheet and then a x bead in the center to the corners. Press in place and the vacuum of the bead should hold it in place,.24 hours to set, it will hold well.
