Normally I would give this product a 5 star, however the last order I picked up, 16 bags, I had a difficult time getting it to stay lit. I have never had this problem before...... and I couldn't give an explanation why that happened, but this would be my favorite dried kiln wood by far... and it fits perfectly in my apartment fireplace

I give this product 5 stars because it is dried to perfection. And does not create hazzard while burning.
This firewood will exceed your expectation. It burns slow and does not create hazzard by popping. It's an ideal length and burns clean.

I've tried them all, this is pretty good stuff
This wood is a GREAT chiminea wood or for smoking food. I do not have a fireplace but I've used this for several years in a chiminea, and now in an outdoor fire pit.
The not so good:
For a small chiminea or even a fire pit, the pieces are Waayyy to large, I split them lengthwise and then into 4"-6" pieces with my chop saw. If I use this wood in my smoker I cut the 6" pieces into chunks, good flavor.
For cooking something on the coals like Mickie potatoes, the low ash (stated below) means it burns clean and you have to use a lot to build up a nice red coal base.
I look into the net bag to see if there is any blackened or dark wood. There can be some moldy pieces but it's no biggie if stored outdoors, it just burns right now, POOF!
The really good:
Low residual ash, stays lit, burns hot, but obviously with smaller pieces in a chiminea you'll be tending the fire more. Priced right, AND it's just about ALWAYS in stock!
Like I said, I used just about EVERY wood available in south Florida, this is the only one I'll even bother to buy, so I stock up!

It Worked For Me
I keep a decent stack of firewood to burn in my fire pit but this year I burned (pun intended) through it pretty quickly. In South Texas you can enjoy an outdoor fire almost throughout the entire winter since it rarely gets so cold that the fire won't keep you warm.
I grabbed two bags of this wood since I was out. I used a wax fire starter on two logs to get things started. The logs charred but didn't actually catch fire so I added a few more logs. Those additional logs burned well and I had no problems from that point on. This wood seems to be a mixed bag (yes another intentional pun). If all the logs would have been like the first two I doubt I would have got much of a fire going. This wood is worth a try, I just advise you have a backup plan.
