(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I installed this light above a small bar area that we have built. The installation was easy as the instructions were very easy. I did not have a hole cutter and cut the hole with a utility knife, I had to retrain so the light could fit. Once installed , it is just the right amount of light and atmosphere.

Installation took a little longer than I thought it would but now that I've done it - more will be a snap. The retaining clips are fairly snug when you place the unit into the hole (great template provided). The conduit box provided works great to run the household wires into. They thought of everything except no box clips were provided for the household wiring where it enters the box. I bet lots of homeowners and DIY'ers might skip this step.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This light was very easy to install. The hardest part was pulling out the old light I was replacing! For the wiring, the light has "quick connect push terminals". You simply need to strip a quarter inch or so of your house wiring and push them into the plastic terminal. There is room in each terminal (white, black and ground) for two wires, so if you are running these lights in a series you can install the wiring without the need for mar connectors and jumper wires. The magnetic face plate is a nice feature, and seems to hold really well. The light I received does not turn, so I cannot angle it, and it is not WIFI connectable, so maybe they sent me the wrong product. Otherwise went up quickly and the light is very bright when on the brightest setting.

I have installed a number of these types of lights and I've always been worried about the electrical box not staying shut, the wiring being too flimsy and the light unit itself just not being built to last. This light is a beast!! The entire unit is fairly heavy. The electrical box is solid and snaps shut nice and tight. The wiring is not flimsy at all. Installation was a breeze. Make sure you hang onto the template to cut a hole in your ceiling - it will make installation a lot easier. I love the fact you can change the color with easy access to a simple switch by just popping off the magnetic plate. There's no need to shut off the electrical and open up the box to change the light setting. The light itself is very bright and covers a wide footprint. The only downside is this unit needs to be installed between your joists and the light unit needs a minimum of two inches of space to accommodate its depth.

This was a retrofit for me and it will be hidden so I cut a hole in plywood to hold the light rather than cutting into the drywall. Instructions are clear and the connections are easy. Very bright light with several intensity settings, I would recommend to anyone installing pot lights.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) First thing I noticed about this product was the weight. I have yet to handle a pot light this heavy. Its not annoying or bad by any means but rather threw me off. The light itself is made up of more metal components than your average pot light. The housing, controller box, diffuser/cone portion are all solidly built. The trim plate is also metal and can be interchanged with different colours as it is magnetically attached. This light is not a gimbal style light. It is recessed in the cone itself providing a more "focused" lit area. Light still does shine and fill the room. It also has a plastic seal on it so it can be used in areas such as the bathroom. I ended up using this in my library room right above my desk. I already have pot lights installed but the narrower focus of the light beam made it a good pick to brighten up my desktop. As for the install it went very smooth. The junction box is a standard design to what you might already be used to. It has a push fit tail allowing you to hide the junction box in the ceiling then connect the light itself. Be careful of the spring wings. These are like no other I have worked with. They are solid, and will spring back with great force causing even the biggest of men to tear up... yes it happened to me. But this also only adds to the quality of the product knowing it will not come loose in the ceiling. Overall I would definitely recommend this product. High quality materials used with little to no corners cut.

The ceiling was already wired for a pot light and it was very easy to retrofit the existing light with this light. It's very streamlined and provides flexibility of the intensity of light required. Given this area was in a back hall I decided to opt for a warm light and manually selected the 2700K choice. On this light you can a select the brightness level anywhere from 2700K to 5000K. The 5000K setting is extraordinarily bright - almost more bright than I can imagine anyone wanting but the option is there. The 2700K setting provided a very lovely, warm light that was a great addition to blueish light we had there before. Recessed lighting has come along way in the last 10 years and I'd recommend this. The only downside was it was recessed in the assembly - which I understand you can also buy flush which is what i'd do again in the future.

If you are looking for a sleek, low profile lighting option for a new installation or to replace an existing ceiling fixture, don’t overlook this one. I used this light to replace a dated flush mounted fixture in my Master Bathroom. Installation was pretty straightforward, but I needed to add a couple of additional push connectors for the wiring as my vanity light and bathroom fan were on the same circuit. Please check your pre-existing wiring first if you are not using for new construction and I highly recommend making a drawing of any existing wiring to help you along. Pros: - Low profile, sleek design. - Magnetic removable faceplate. - Push and turn connection for fixture to driver box. - Push connectors (Wago style) provided in driver box for wiring. - Wiring connections enclosed in driver box with snap to close lid. - Spring loaded clips to easily secure the fixture. - Five lighting modes. - Tabs with screw holes provided on driver box to attach to stud, if this is an option in your installation. Cons: - May require additional wiring connectors depending on what other fixtures are on the same circuit. - If additional wiring connectors are required (see previous comment), space in the driver box can get cramped. - Lighting mode switch will require a step stool or ladder to reach, if you wish to change the mode post-installation. An improvement could be to make this fixture a smart light so the mode could be controllable via an app on your mobile device. Overall, this light is a great addition to my home and an improvement over my dated flush mounted fixture.

The trim kit is awesome being magnetic making it easy to take off and clean or to access the switch to change the color of light without making a mess. The downfall I see with this light is how tall (deep) it is meaning you have to have an open cavity above the light for this fixture and if you only have a small ceiling space it won’t work. Otherwise it was very easy to install.
