Can you plug into a receptacle? If not where can I purchase one that does?

Yes, but ONLY IF you will be using it in your house and not a commercial building. You can do this by buying a two prong extension cord of the appropriate length and stripping the ends to wire it to the light through one of the removable conduit holes. In a commercial building it would be hardwired to a breaker for the emergency lighting.

Not sure. We mounted the new light where the old one was - replaced and wired the new one to the old wires. It replaced the older style with no problems.

Does this unit have test, and AC "on" buttons?

Answers

Yes it has a test button, but if I understand what your asking about the "AC "on" button, no. It is only an emergency light it will only come on when the power goes out. That being said you could put a standard light switch in the circuit to be able to turn off the power so the unit would run on its battery if you wanted to use it as a standard lighting fixture, not really recommended.

is this remote capable?

Asked by Mike June 9, 2018

Answers

You COULD make it "remote capable" if you can find a remote-controlled relay to put in the supply circuit. When the relay opens, it cuts power to the fixture, turning on the emergency lights. I don't think it's a good idea, though, because: 1. You're using it outside its designed function 2. The batteries are designed for somewhat rare power outages, not routine & regular use 3. It's much cleaner to simply use a light designed for remote control rather than kludging together something with a remote controlled relay.

Good lighting unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed the Lithonia 2 light Emergency LED unit along side my driveway and the illumination is great! It has some nice features, both lights on the unit swivel, contemporary design and it comes with premium batteries. High performance LED brightneses for about 90 mins in event of an emergency. Really no maintenance, easy to install and comes with mounting plate, the lens are acrylic and these lights are long lasting. Definitely a good quality lighting unit and will most likely be installing a few more. Highly recommended.

It works
I bought this unit to shed some light on my cellar stairs and service panel when hit with a power failure to facilitate the connections to my standby generator. On the unit itself I expected to find a a black (hot), white (neutral) and a green or copper ground. Instead, I found a black, a white and an orange sheathed wire marked 277VAC. After scratching my head a few times I realized that this orange 277VAC wire was likely a alternate hot lead used for non U.S. residential grids and just capped it. Secondly, getting the mounting knockouts out without damaging the thing was like pulling healthy teeth from a fully awake subject (not a trivial task). The instructions left much to be desired. If they were a bit more thorough they would have been a bit more helpful doing the installation. It was not obvious to me at all that the hot and neutral wires tied to the mounting plate did not have to be individually pigtailled to the unit itself so once again, I found myself scratching my head trying to figure out how the power was supposed to be tied to the battery pack/lights. I reasoned that there were two possibilities: 1- my unit was missing some wires or 2- there was a stealthy plug connection between the two that mated when the two parts were snapped together. Fortunately it was the latter rather than the former. The directions could have highlighted this fact. All in all, the unit works as advertised and it will will do the job I needed done so I would recommended it to a friend.

Nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed this light for our basement steps. I works great. Installation was a little difficult but I'm not an electrician. Other then that it does exactly what it is intended to do. Works and functions properly

Easy to install and works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this light. I've recently been upgrading my house in case of power failures and emergency and this was just perfect. I had no problems installing it and it works great! Lights last quite long and it's brighter than I thought it would be. Excellent light for when we need it!

Easy to install.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is handy to have incase of an outage or any emergency where your light goes out. It is very hefty n sturdy and lights up a pretty good amount so you can find your way if ever the lights go out. Absolutely a great product.

Nice little security light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this about a month ago for security for our backyard. Comes with screws for the mounting plate, but I opted to use 3M velcro patches as to not damage our siding. Has a regular 12v plug-in which we plug into our outside plug. Runs for at least 90 minutes without power.
