Product Details

This Louisville 4 ft. fiberglass Cross Step ladder has a Type IA duty rating with load capacity of 300 lbs. This ladder combines the Shelf and Step Ladder for a 2-in-1 combination made to take on multiple placement locations. The shelf design and its unique ProTop and innovative locking mechanism allows for positioning against a wall, building or pole. When unlocked, this ladder sets up as a regular step ladder. The angles of the step ladder allow the capability to get closer to the work area. The Cross-Step Ladder is equipped with a V-shape ProTop with non-marring slip resistant rubber tread that allows it to be placed safely on corners and poles. This ladders ProTop also features a magnet and multiple slots that allow quick and easy access to your tools. Other features include Louisville Ladders patented SHOX impact absorption system, new Raptor Boot with bonded heavy-duty slip resistant tread, inside spreader braces that protect the ladder during transport, heavy-duty reinforcements and double rivets. The new Louisville FXS1504 Fiberglass Cross-Step ladder meets or exceeds the safety standards set by ANSI, CSA and OSHA.

Q:I have a 10ft ceiling. Does this 10ft ladder fit under a 10ft ceiling? Can I open this 10ft ladder under a 10ft ceiling without scraping the ceiling?

A:  It will not fit in a 10 ft. ceiling. A 10 ft. stepladder when opened is 10 ft. tall from the bottom of the shoe to the top of the top cap.

            FAIL! Missing rivets!
            I was really excited by the design of this ladder and saw great YouTube reviews which lead me to purchase it. Home Depot sells it for a great price too. Although it’s only available online, they shipped it quickly. Unfortunately, when I got it home and spread the ladder open to try it out, I saw that the two rivets holding the folding brace on one side were missing! Also, these ladders are now made with an obnoxious green color for the plastic top shelf and feet. I was expecting the grey color that is shown in the pictures online. Not a functional issue, but it’s a pretty loud color combo in my opinion. Returning to the store for a refund.

              It is very sturdy, well-made and I think the fold/lean feature will be handy. I have only used the fully-open feature to extend my short stature to do jobs around the house. The only thing I wish it had is a deeper stepping surface for me as an older person, as I feel somewhat wobbly standing on the step. With time and ladder use, I expect this sensation will diminish. I am glad to buy a product from a USA-based company that also manufactures here as well. This is an important factor for my buying decisions. The price on the ladders was more than I expected but since it's manufacture protects US jobs, I was glad to pay the price.

                The ladder was defective and I returned to Home Depot....
                The ladder was defective and I returned to Home Depot. One of the rubber/plastic feet was defective causing the ladder to wobble. I contacted Louisville Ladder and the rep told me it was a racking issue. He provided me with instructions to resolve it. This was not a racking issue! The foot was defective! I never heard back from Louisville Ladder. I thought they might have been interested in my feedback.
