The Lutron Diva dimmer switch is a simple and elegant solution designed to match your existing designer opening switches and accessories. This Diva dimmer switch is for use in 300-Watt electronic Low-Voltage applications. You can easily turn the lights on and off with the paddle style switch. While the lights are turned on, use the slide control to adjust the lights to your desired level creating your perfect light. The paddle switch returns the lights to your favorite preset level. A soft locator light glows in the off position, making the dimmer switch easy to find in the dark. Installing a Diva dimmer switch is easy and saves energy too. with LED's this dimmer has smooth dimming in 90% of the range
Other dimmers do not work well( or at all) with LED lights. This has smooth dimming in 90% of the range with LED's. I does drop out below 10%, or the light do not start correctly below 10%. It is a quite dimmer to with no humming. However you must have a neutral wire available in the box or it will not work. Some older houses (<70 years) do not have a neutral wire available, so make sure you electrical box for the light switch has one in there. It does not need the ground wire to work correctly.

I am disappointed that HD stocks bulbs but does not stock any compatable dimmers. They also stock dimmers, but none of the bulbs they sell are listed on Lutron's site as being compatable. This means you either have to special order the bulbs or the dimmer, which is dumb.
I used Ecosmart G25 40 watt bulbs(25 40WE W27 CL). They worked great, however I was unable to find a dimmer that would work with them without noise at HD or any of their competitors. I tried 7. I finally had to special order an ELV Dimmer from HD(DVELV-300PH-WH). It is expensive and has no dimming adjustment, so it will not go as low as I would like, but it is quiet. You must have a white wire to use an ELV Dimmer.

Because there is currently no industry standard in LED manufacturing, performance may vary from bulb to bulb. Lutron does extensive testing with LEDs on our dimmers, and we are continuously updating our compatibility lists. Our LED Compatibility Tool is helpful in finding compatible bulbs, but you want to be sure the LED model number you're looking at matches up exactly with what is on the list. Perfect for Modernforms Loft 24" LED Vanity Lights
The ballast in the Modernforms Loft LED fixtures I purchased for a bathroom remodel require an ELV dimmer. At that time (2014) this was one of the two "qualified" dimmers. Initially shocked at the price I found that a conventional (incandescent) dimmer would not work at all. The DIVA ELV dimmer works perfectly dimming the lights to at least 10% before they shut off. The light fixtures produce a tremendous amount of light at full brightness and really need a dimmer to be comfortable (especially at night). Good product, works perfectly, easy to use.

A particular light fixture company recommended using this switch for their low voltage dimmable wall sconce light fixture but unfortunately the contractor was unable to get it to work. So it may not have been this switch ???
