Yes, 3-way means two light switches, but only one of the two switches can be a dimmer.
Thank you for your interest in Lutron products. The Lutron Diva DVCL-153P dimmer can be used in single-pole and 3-way applications. Please visit the Lutron Support Center for wiring diagrams. https://www.lutron.com/en-US/pages/supportCenter/support.aspx?modelNumber=DVCL-153P&SECTION=Documents&ct=Wiring%20Diagrams
The DVCL-153P is a stand-alone wall box control and is not compatible with Home kit. In addition, the DVCL-153P is a single pole or 3-way dimmer that does not require a neutral. For Home kit compatible controls, Lutron would recommend our Caseta Wireless devices.
No, you need to get a different Lutron dimmer than the Diva. The boxes are pretty good at telling you which ones work with more than two locations. You may have to move up to the Maestro series, which will also give you the option of dimming from more than one location.
The DVCL-153P does make an slight audible clicking noise when using the rocker paddle when switching between on and off.
Yes, wire nuts are included.
This dimmer can be installed on either end of a 3 way switch system. But there can be only one of theese dimmers installed and the other switch must be a regular non dimming 3 way.
Currently, there is no industry standard or regulation for the manufacturing of LEDs and the performance will vary with different dimming controls. With this information in mind, Lutron performs extensive testing on a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers and posts our most up to date testing information on our LED compatibility tool. Lutron would suggest visiting www.lutron.com/ledfinder or www.lutron.com/ledtool to find compatible LEDs for a Lutron dimmer.
Yes, the DVCL-153P uses a TRIAC to control the lighting load. The DVCL-153P is rated for 150W of compatible LED/CFL or 600W incandescent/halogen. To see which LEDs are compatible, please visit www.lutron.com/ledfinder.
Lutron's DVCL-153P is designed to dim down to the light's lowest possible level- they will not dim to off and each light can differ in lighting level. To turn the light off, Lutron recommends using the paddle switch on the dimmer. It does not matter where the dimmer lighting level is during installation. In addition, Lutron always recommends to check the LED compatibility tool to find an compatible LED https://www.lutron.com/en-US/Pages/LEDCompatibilityTool/Compatibility.aspx
