The Maestro Countdown Timer Switch helps you save money and energy by automatically turning off the lights and fans after a preset time. Using the Maestro Countdown timer on bathroom exhaust fans can reduce the chance of a costly mold problem, and timers attached to garage lights can add an extra layer of safety when you return home at night. Use the large tap switch to turn the timer on and off, and use the rocker on the side to set the timer to the desired time-out option, anywhere from 5-60 minutes. Softly lit LED's indicate the time remaining before turn-off. Save energy by using the Maestro Countdown Timer in closets, attics, basements, and other low-traffic areas to ensure the light is never left on for a long time. Coordinating Claro wall plates and accessories sold separately.

Does this timer come in basic white to match other white switches?

AnswerThe MA-T51MN has a minimum load of .05A. The whisper quiet fan, with its 10.6W, operates at .088A, therefore the MA-T51MN should be able to control it. This particular timer does require a neutral connection, so ensure neutral wires are present in the wallbox where the MA-T51MN would be installed.

AnswersI use this at work for with a number of T8 fluorescent bulbs at work for an upstairs Parts room as once in a while the lights would be left on and it's a long way around to get to that area. Since the place converted most all lights over to LED including these T8's, they're just now LED versions of those and they all work just fine with this switch.

Recommended by an electrician. Thought it might be a frivolous purchase, but am very glad we installed these! Only negative is the numbers for setting are very tiny so get out your best reading glasses! However, once set at the number of minutes desired, you really never have to reset again.

I have installed this timer on several jobs. Nice when...
I have installed this timer on several jobs. Nice when you need the additional neutral wire connection. But this timer was defective, so it had to be returned and reordered. Good product, but non-operation did cause a job delay, hence the "average" rating.

Quality component that looks smart and stylish. Works with our Panasonic WhisperCeiling bath fan, but at the one-minute remaining mark briefly turns the fan off (this is right when the bottom light begins to flash rapidly). Only other issue is that there isn't a good light indication that you have turned the switch on: when activated, the currently selected timer setting becomes brighter but this is a subtle change.
