Need replace 25+year old Nutone Scovill model# PFSW-2. Ceiling fan with a light. Each has own wires and switch/control to operate independent. Both have a black and red wire attached to them,plus a ground and white connected in box.

Replacing FSQ-2F with 750-450.Note 2/3 of 033206/227 states to set the multi-speed fan to highest setting. Does this apply to Pull-chain switch on the fan? How can you identify the highest setting on this for non-running fan without opening the canopy?
If the previous control was the FSQ-2F, the fan should already be in the highest state to work with that control as well. However, if you are unsure, Lutron would recommend installing a the new dimmer and test the fan. If the fan control is set to high but not at the highest speed or not moving at all, pull the chain on the fan to adjust the setting.
